Greetings Laurel Hall Families!
We are so thankful to be back, and just like that we roll along! What an opening it has been – lots of happy little faces just warms the heart.
Next week begins our first full week of school, and the activities have either begun outright or are quickly going to launch: The New Parent Social, Middle School and Elementary Parent Information Night, High School Information Night, ACE, Sports, Mock Trial, Middle School Math Olympiad, and Movie Night are just a few of the exciting offerings that come with your LHS membership - and these events don’t even get us through Thanksgiving!
Remember, you can (and should) keep tabs on all the Laurel Hall excitement by accessing the events scanning the new PTO QR code!
Two of the more important events will occur on Tuesday, September 13th and Tuesday, September 20th - the Middle School Parent Information Night, and the Elementary Parent Information Night, respectively. This week, I will focus on the Middle School Info Night, an evening intended for you to gain a better understanding of the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade-level program. Next week, you will receive information about the Elementary Parent Information Night.
What: Middle School Information Night
When: Tuesday, September 13th, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Where: Parish Hall, Innovation Lab, Church Reception Room
- The evening begins in Parish Hall for all Middle School Parents (unfortunately, no students/children are allowed, nor will childcare be provided). There is a twenty-minute presentation in Parish Hall for parents to learn, “What is advisory?” and, “Who are the advisory teachers?” There will also be a presentation that is a brief overview of Bible class.
- Each family will also receive a hard copy of the middle school teaching matrix for the grade in which their child is enrolled.
- After the initial presentation:
- 6th grade parents will remain in Parish Hall for academic core class presentations.
- 7th grade parents will proceed to the Innovation Lab for 7th grade academic core class presentations.
- 8th grade parents will proceed (across the street) to the Church Reception Room for 8th grade academic core class presentations.
