Boonton UMC

September 11, 2022
14th Sunday after Pentecost

Sunday worship at 11:15am -
In-Person and on YouTube
Boonton UMC: A fun, musical, relevant, relational, and compassionate church
where people find hope, healing, and wholeness.
This Sunday will have things that are both causes for joy and causes for sorrow. It will be be an exciting Sunday as we start back up Sunday School and bless our students and teachers as they head into a new school year. But it will also be a hard Sunday as we come to the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and remember those lost.

But whether it's at the cusp of a new school year or in sorrowful reflection of events that have occurred in the past, we are called to trust in and lean on God and the promises spoken throughout Scripture that offer hope, comfort, guidance, and help. There are many things we never want to forget. And understandably so. But there are also things we always want to remember, such as the promises of God that we are able to stand firmly upon this day and forevermore, no matter how joy-filled or sorrow-filled the circumstances of our life and world may prove to be.

Whether in-person or on YouTube, we hope you can join us at 11:15am this Sunday at Boonton UMC!

Happening at the Boonton Library

Share a story of a cherished tradition or memorable celebration unique to your community or family. Traditions come in all shapes — the Indian art of creating beautiful Rangoli designs in front of your doorstep every morning to heralding the arrival of a new firetruck with a great wet-down! Celebrations, likewise, may be anything honoring the Mexican Day of the Dead to welcoming the changes of the season.

Here’s how to participate: Click HERE and fill in your name, contact information, and a brief description of the story you plan to tell. Tellers will be chosen randomly one week in advance of each event.
