Wednesday, February 8, 8:45 am: "Grab the Gavel" action at City Hall, 1221 SW 4th Avenue. Wear red. We will demand that Zenith's new LUCS be rescinded. A speaker will testify to the City Council, and we need everyone to turn out and sit in the Council Chamber in support. We protect what we love, and we will NOT allow the City Council to gaslight us into accepting that Zenith Energy executives in Houston, Texas can make an undemocratic, backroom deal with Portland's elected officials, on land use and energy decisions affecting our region and city.

there is a long, proud and necessary tradition of organizing the power of the people in this country (and city and state). Why is local action powerful? Spoiler alert:
- Many policy changes related to climate are local rather than national;
- local wins can spread to other places;
- local action can trigger national policy.
