JLT Member Kick-Off Event
|
|
JLT Members kicked off the league year and showed their team spirit at Railroad Square Craft House in the Tallahassee Railroad Square Art District. Members mingled in the large outdoor space and enjoyed delicious signature cocktails, craft beers, and pub-style food.
Many thanks to Railroad Square Craft House for hosting this fabulous celebration and JLT’s Arrangements Chairs, Stephanie Kimbrough and Sarah Thomas, for all their hard work organizing the event.

We’re Stocking Up For The Holidays
|
|
JLT members are already preparing for the holiday season! Volunteers used Kohl’s Cash earned from our 26th Annual Kids’ Boutique event to purchase pajamas, books, and toys for the medically fragile children at Aveanna. These will be distributed at the annual holiday party this December.
JLT was also able to provide clothing and shoes for five new children at Big Bend Homeless Coalition’s HOPE Community and lots of blankets for the residents. Many thanks to our fabulous Done in a Day Chairs, Tracy Eckles and Shannon Whitaker, for organizing this shopping outing!

The Junior League of Tallahassee is partnering with KCCI for their 4th Annual Placemaking Week. “Hop for Hope” is designed to improve morale and build connections between HOPE Community residents. This unique partnership between KCCI and The Junior League of Tallahassee brings bright splashes of color to the central sidewalk, benches, playground area, and planters. Bring a paintbrush or shovel and join us as we brighten the lives of others. Sign up to lend a helping hand here or to help purchase needed supplies from our Amazon Wishlist.
Kudos to our HOPE Chairs, Alexis Simoneau and Erin Condon, for their unwavering commitment to helping the children and families at HOPE.

Big Bend Homeless Coalition’s HOPE Community is a residential facility with support services for homeless families with children and homeless single women. BHC provides food and shelter for up to 140 people at a time, giving residents the option to stay for up to six months while working on individual goals to work their way into stable housing. In the last seven years, more than 1,200 HOPE Community residents have moved out into stable housing of their own (including 500 children).

JLT Sustainers gathered for their first happy hour of the League Year at Over Under Bar in Midtown Tallahassee. Sustainers spent time catching up and learning more about upcoming plans for the year.
Sustaining members of the Junior League of Tallahassee are an important component of our organization’s success; They serve as mentors to the New and Active members of the League and are a valuable source of support and inspiration.
Many thanks to Allyson Foster and Jennifer Stanford for planning this wonderful get-together.

JLT Supports Sabal Palm Elementary
|
|
JLT is excited to work with Sabal Palm Elementary as our 2022-2024 Jill Pope Community Partner. This partnership provides volunteer support and funding to a partnering non-profit that aligns with the JLT’s mission to improve the lives of children and families in our community.
As a Community Partnership School, Sabal Palm brings together high-quality academics, health care, counseling, support, mentoring, and more — all where students and their families are comfortable: in their own school. We are thrilled to be able to support the students, parents, teachers, and staff at Sabal Palm Elementary this school year. To celebrate the Labor Day holiday, Sabal Palm committee members dropped off treats for the teachers and staff.
We are grateful to our Sabal Palm committee chairs, Heather Pepe and Dana Auvil, who will be leading the charge to foster this new partnership and provide the biggest #JLTImpact to support the students, families, and faculty at Sabal Palm Elementary!

The market is one of the oldest in the state and features local farms and a thriving market community. Many thanks to our League Connect Chairs, Sarah-Grace Harley and Paula Rozofsky, for planning this fun outing.

This summer World of Beer (WOB) Tallahassee partnered with Junior League of Tallahassee for the First Semi-Annual WOB Beer Festival featuring Tallahassee's first-ever "Brunch Beerfest” and over 200 beer options. 100% of the net proceeds went to the Junior League of Tallahassee.
We are grateful for the support of Tallahassee business leader, Jason Frimmel, and World of Beer Tallahassee in their support of the League and our programming. JLT members had a wonderful time volunteering and attending this event.
