2022-2023 TES Yearbook Cover Contest
Students in all grades are encouraged to participate and the winner of the contest will receive a $50 VISA gift card and a free yearbook! The students whose designs finish in 2nd and 3rd place will receive a free copy of the yearbook and will have their artwork featured inside the yearbook. The yearbook committee will narrow down the selections to a final ten entries and then TES students and staff will vote for their favorite design.
Entries should be inspired by this year's theme,
“We are Crew - Not Passengers”. Crew means pulling together, thinking together and supporting each other to do things bigger and better than we all thought possible. We look forward to seeing student’s creative ideas incorporating the theme!
All cover contest entries are due Monday, September 19th. Entries should be submitted AT THE FRONT DESK!
Entries must:
- Be submitted on 8 ½ X 11 white cardstock paper (available at the front desk)
- Include the school’s name, along with the school year (2022-2023)
- Be designed using colored pencils, paints, or markers
- Digital Art designs ARE permitted BUT all aspects of the digital art must be the student’s own original design (emailed to sallywhitaker@theexpeditionschool.com)
- If characters are used in the design, they must be original characters (For example: NO SpongeBob, Baby Yoda, Paw Patrol, Among Us, etc.)
- Include the student’s name and grade on the back.
- Entries that do not meet the above criteria will be disqualified.
Students may also wish to feature the school colors (blue & gold).

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade Social
Calling all TES kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade families! Join TESCA for a K-2 Social on Saturday September 17, 9:30 – 11:30 am, at the Gold Park field. Play games, hang out on the playground, and get to know fellow TES kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade parents and students. Snacks will be provided and water will be available. To reduce waste, please bring your own water bottle. (Afterwards, you can enjoy the Hog Day BBQ festival downtown Hillsborough!) Looking forward to seeing you there! No RSVP necessary.

Seeking Room Parent!
A Room Parent is a volunteer who helps a teacher by serving as the liaison between the teacher and other classroom families. Additionally, the Room Parent relays information about classroom supply needs or asks for volunteers for various events. This is a great way to be involved with your child’s class and to help foster family involvement! If you are interested in being a room parent for Ms. Roberts class, please contact your teacher and let Scott at k-4roomparent@tes-ca.com know.

TESCA Facebook Group
Welcome and please join our Facebook group! This group is for parents / guardians, teachers, and staff of The Expedition School in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Our goal is to build a mutually supportive community. Families are invited to join after they have accepted a position at the school. You must answer all the questions (2) and agree to the Admin rules before joining.
If you missed a question, you’ll need to cancel your join request and then join again and answer all of the questions.
