In light of the vote taken at the special council meeting in February 2022 expressing the congregation’s desire to withdraw from the Church of the Brethren, the Board met with the Separation Team representing the Church of the Brethren Atlantic Northeast District on Tuesday evening, March 29, 2022 as outlined in the Procedural Outline for Congregational Withdrawal from the Church of the Brethren Atlantic Northeast District. Both groups have decided to pursue separation according to the Procedural Outline.
On Saturday evening, May 21, 2022 at 5:30 PM, district representatives will be present at an official council meeting to be held at Akron Church of the Brethren “to share the process, (and) to share consequences of leaving …” Following discussion, the district representatives will oversee a first vote on withdrawal.
Please prayerfully consider attending this important meeting as we continue to discern God’s direction for both Akron Church of the Brethren and each individual member. If you have any questions regarding the process, please contact your deacon.
May Mission of the Month
Bible Fellowship Christian Center
Last year ACOB began supporting Pastor Jared's Church in Kisii, Kenya. His calling and mission is to bring the Gospel to the small outlying villages in the African Bush. His church in Kisii has been growing and he has been training leaders to assist him at the church so that he is able to focus on outreach. In January of this year, he baptized over 20 men and women who received Christ and were eager to begin their own church in the village of Mananasi. This is about 17 km from the home church.

Akron Day in the Park -- June 11, 2022
The Witness Commission will be handing out snack bags to the children that are attending the Akron Day in the Park on June 11, 2022. One of the food items in the snack bags are candy smarties. We will need 400 individual smarties, The snack bags will also contain a gospel tract on prayer and a flyer about the upcoming VBS in July. For those who like to shop for candy, please bring your donation of smarties to church and place in the Gathering Area by May 29, 2022. Thank you

In order to use Zoom, you need a working computer with a webcam and microphone or a smart phone with the app "Zoom Cloud Meeting" downloaded.
If you are using a computer, you will then click the link provided below. There will be a new link provided every week.
When you click on the link below, it will prompt you to "Open Zoom Meetings." Please select "Yes" or "Open Zoom Meetings."
It will then open a new window on your computer with a video preview. You will click "Join with Video."
A new window will pop and you will click "Join with Computer Audio." You should now be in our Sunday School class!
If you are using a smartphone, open the "Zoom Cloud Meeting" app and select "Join Meeting."
You will enter the "Meeting ID" found in the info. below. There will be a new Meeting ID each week. You can also type in your name in the spot below "Meeting ID." Then click "Join."
A Video Preview will pop up. Select "Join with Video."
Then it will ask you to join audio, select "call with internet audio." Then you are in our Sunday School class!
