Park in the City Committee and Sunrise Rotary of Niagara Falls Tree Planting Event

NIAGARA FALLS, ON - Join us at Carolyn Park for a tree planting event made possible by the Sunrise Rotary Club of Niagara Falls. Nine native trees will be planted in the park, adjacent to the Rotary Storybook Pathway, on May 7th in honour of nine charter Rotary members that have founded a new satellite Rotary Club, Niagara Falls Sunrise Sunset, which was admitted into Rotary International on March 14, 2022.  

Mayor Diodati will be present to bring greetings, along with members of the Park in the City Committee. This is a rain or shine event.

What: Tree planting event 

Where: Carolyn Park, 6528 Carolyn Avenue, Niagara Falls L2E 5H5
When: Saturday, May 7, 2022. 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 
Who: Representatives from Sunrise Rotary Club of Niagara Falls, The Park in the City Committee, City Council and Staff. 
Why: The Sunrise Rotary Club of Niagara Falls and the Park in the City Committee are taking an active approach to help off-set loss within urban woodlots throughout the community.

About the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls- Sunrise
The Rotary Club of Niagara Falls-Sunrise is a member club of Rotary International. Locally, the Sunrise club supports community and charitable groups including the Greater Niagara General Hospital Foundation, Literacy Niagara, Women’s Place, the School Breakfast program and many others. With funds raised by events such as Niagara Falls Rotary-Sunrise Ribfest, Christmas by the Falls and the Rotary Elimination dinner (in partnership with the daytime Niagara Falls Rotary Club).  All money raised at this event goes back into our community and to international efforts such as End Polio Now.

About The Park in the City Committee
A volunteer committee, appointed by City Council. The committee’s mandate is to encourage environmental responsibility, city-wide beautification, promote recreation and active transportation usage, and civic pride through community action. The Committee also advises City Council on issues regarding its mandate.
