New Adult Programming (18+)
At the MacBain Community Centre

Registration for adult programming at the MacBain Community Centre is now open!

Some opportunities for adults 18+ include Hatha Yoga, Total Resistance Exercise (TRX), Davinci Stick, and pickleball. Registration is required!

Rhubarb & asparagus season is upon us!

On May 14th, between 7AM to 1PM, join us at the MacBain Community Centre for the return of the Niagara Falls' Farmers Market. Every Saturday, rain or shine, our best local farmers, growers, makers and bakers will be set up for the community to enjoy.

Canada Day 2022
Call for Volunteer and Parade Participants

The Recreation & Culture Department is excited to announce the 2022 Niagara Falls Canada Day Parade, and this year’s theme of Sport & Healthy, Active Living. 

Interested in participating?  
  • Parade Entries: Any group interested in participating in the parade is required to fill out the Application Form.
    • Entries must reflect the Sport & Healthy, Active, Living theme.
    • Applications are subject to review, and a spot is not guaranteed.
    • Performers, entertainers, bands, etc., that charge a fee are still asked to fill out the form and include information about their price and act.
    • Entries are due by May 24th.
Volunteers: Community members looking to volunteer are asked to fill out the Parade Volunteer Form.

What's New?

Let's Talk Affordable Housing
The Provincial Housing Affordability Task Force submitted its report on the state of Ontario’s housing market. Among its proposals are measures to reduce the cost to buy, build, and rent property. Have your say! On May 10th Council will consider the Task Force recommendations further. Comments will be received until May 5th.

Let's Talk Public Art at the Niagara Falls Exchange
The City is excited to announce that the new Niagara Falls Exchange will be home to an original piece of Canadian public art!

Five artists or creative artist teams were “short-listed” to participate in a Request for Proposal (RFP) and provided a stipend to produce a detailed design concept. The designs are now posted online.

Provide your comments on the proposals for public art at the Niagara Falls Exchange! Engagement closes May 5th.

Mother Earth Day will take place at Firemen's Park in Niagara Falls from 9AM to 4PM on Saturday, June 11th (rain or shine.)

Niagara Tourism Relief Fund
Applications are Open

On April 6th, it was announced that the Tourism Partnership of Niagara (Niagara Tourism) received a contribution of $8.5 million from the Government of Canada to deliver the Tourism Relief Fund to tourism businesses in Southern Ontario. 

Support is available for small businesses in the tourism sector to recover from the impacts of the pandemic and seize new market opportunities.

Applications must be submitted by May 15th, 2022.

Annual Hydrant Flushing
The City of Niagara Falls began its annual fire hydrant flushing program during the last week of April 2022. This is part of a scheduled preventative maintenance program to help maintain good water quality and to improve water flow in your neighbourhood.

World Turtle Day

The Niagara Falls Small Business Enterprise Centre has opened applications for the Ontario Summer Company program! Students who are between the ages of 15 and 29, and returning to school in the Fall can qualify for a $3,000 grant to run a summer business!
