Our Summer Reading Program: Oceans of Possibilities
begins Wednesday, June 1!


Creative Critters: Forest Animal Paper Collage
Saturday, May 7
2:00pm - 3:30pm

Come make cute little forest animals with visiting artist Shelly Hanmo Qian and Junonia Arts! This is a special workshop where you will learn how to make paper art animals out of paper-based items that you can find around the house: newspaper, magazines, random papers, scrapbook paper, cardstock etc. Participants will also learn about the importance of eco-friendly and sustainable art making practices.

This event will also feature a read aloud of Ms. Qian's new children's book In the Quiet Beauty of the World which she worked on with author Laura Jaworski. This program is design for children in grades K-6.

The Murder Mystery of Dr. Knabe presented by Unseen Press
Saturday, May 7
3:00pm - 4:00pm

Based on “She Sleeps Well," a true Indiana crime biography, learn about this crime by assuming a role and exploring her case. Discover facts and draw conclusions.

The scene is a small apartment in Indianapolis 1911. The suspects are from the cream of society. This is the Edwardian Age, the haves and the have nots. Status is everything. Dr. Helene Knabe, a smart, accomplished doctor, is finishing her courses to become a gymnastics instructor. She also teaches at two colleges, maintains a medical practice, and is active in research. Dr. Knabe maintains a social life and enjoys the delights of what Indianapolis has to offer... until things so wrong. 

The program is highly interactive and educational! This program is for adults 18+.

Pick-up your items using our drive-up window!
Drive-up window services include holds pick-up, mobile printing pick-up, faxing, and copying. Located at the back of the library off of Main Street.

Drive-up window service hours are Monday - Thursday: 10:00am - 7:00pm and
Friday: 10:00am - 5:30pm. The drive-up window is closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Join us and Kiln Creations to create color bright picado flags on plates and learn about wax resist!

This program is designed for kids in grades K-6 and no prior art skills are needed. All supplies are provided. Spaces are limited and registration is required.

*When registering, please register only with the child's name that will be participating. When you create with us, your ceramics will be ready to pick up at the library in one week.

One State/One Story Community Conversation: Wildflowers and Local Conservation

The prevalence of dementia across the United States is staggering. As the size of the older adult population continues to grow and adults live longer, the number of Americans with Alzheimer’s and other dementia diseases will also increase. Join us and the Madison County Purdue Extension educator to learn steps to better the lives of those who are currently facing, or will potentially face in their future, a dementia diagnosis. Education and awareness of the disease is key. Thus, the focus of this program is to understand dementia, the warning signs, benefits of early detection and diagnosis, and steps to better overall brain health.
