My name is Serena, and I am a sophomore from Gaithersburg, Maryland. When I started UW-Madison my freshman year, I was eager to make new friends that made such a big school feel more like home. Although COVID-19 made our freshman year look different than normal, I fell in love with Wisconsin through the connections I made at Hillel! I was so lucky to meet so many people like my best friend Julia.

My name is Julia and I am a sophomore from Tenafly, New Jersey. When Serena and I met, immediately I could tell that she was going to be by my side not only for the rest of college but for the rest of my life. We began doing everything together, including spending an unreasonable amount of time at UW Hillel. Whether we were studying, going to Friday night Shabbat dinner, or getting a snack we were constantly there!

Fast forward to today, and both of us are interns at UW Hillel! Having a place where we feel comfortable being ourselves and have the ability to continue growing our relationships with Judaism is truly invaluable.

We could not imagine our college experiences without the place we both call home. Please make a gift today to ensure that more students like us are able to find their place here at UW-Madison!
