We concluded our successful Spring Series with the Social Justice Committee on Thursday May 5th,when Rev. Dr. Natalie Fenimore interviewed Dr. Robert P. Jones, Executive Director of long-time Veatch grantee Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) about this important book. At this event, Jones shares how his family story shaped his understanding of the relationship between white supremacy and Christianity in the U.S., and how through extensive research he continues to shed light on how that legacy continues to be present in current religious, community, and political life. In a powerful conversation with Rev. Fenimore, the author also provides some ideas about how can we all work to dismantle this legacy of white supremacy and build truly multicultural and multiracial communities, religious and otherwise.
This Book Talk featuring Rev. Fenimore and PRRI’s Robert P. Jones was Part III of UUCSR Spring Series “Multiracial Democracy Under Attack” co-sponsored by the Veatch Program and the Social Justice Committee. We invite you to go back and check out the resources we shared in Part I, and view the recording of the Panel of Veatch Grantees that we presented in Part II.
