FMC LIVE - Trauma Informed Practice - podcast videos for members as a value added benefit.

It is extremely important for Family Mediators in Canada to practice with understanding and expertise regarding the role of trauma in family disputes.
As family mediators, we are being called upon to play an important role in the reconciliation and healing of trauma affected families across Canada. A popular belief in the helping professions is that all mental and emotional behaviour challenges experienced by clients are grounded in the dynamics of unresolved trauma.
Family mediators continue to work compassionately and proficiently in the context of trauma infused family conflicts and are committed to constantly refining their skills and keeping them current with the latest research.
To help address this need, Family Mediation Canada Training is live-streaming eight, monthly 60-minute podcast videos, free of charge to FMC members and affiliates. Experienced family mediators, and both holding FMC certification, Sharon Crooks and Kenneth Markley will co-host live podcast videos the first Saturday of each month for the remainder of 2022. The 60-minute live broadcast will begin at noon Eastern (9:00am Pacific). Each episode will include a 30-minute interview with a subject expert followed by a 30-minute Q&A that invites questions from the viewing audience.
Viewing participants will receive Family Mediation Canada CEUs toward accreditation for one hour of professional development for each episode they attend. The launching episode on May 7, 2022, at 9am Pacific will present an interview and Q & A with our cohost Sharon Crooks QC. Sharon is an accomplished mediator, arbiter, family lawyer practicing in Alberta. She is an active educator of Trauma Informed Practice.
