Dear Players and Parents,

After a very quiet week at Oyster Bay Oval, with games and training washed out, we'll be back in a BIG WAY from tomorrow night as we kick off Female Football Week celebrations with our Female Gala Night and Mother's Day Markets. Come down and be a part of it, even if it's just to cheer our girls on!

FRIDAY:

• Tiger Cubs is back! 
• Mother's Day Market from 4:30 pm
• 6-a-side Female Football Gala Comp 6-7 pm (did someone say halftime champagne??)
• Bar, BBQ and canteen all open

• Free Champagne for all mums!
• Kick back as Nick Mackey & Friends take the stage from 4:30 pm.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our managers, coaches, committee members, players and parents for accommodating all the changes to last weekend's games. We played a massive 32 home games on away fields and only one of our teams missed out. And of course, THANK YOU to Head Manager and Club Secretary Deb Kearns for orchestrating all of the changes very, very early both mornings.

Oyster Bay 1 is still recovering and will remain closed all weekend. All OB1 games have been moved - Managers have been updated and the SSFA live fixture list has the latest updates. As always, please check your game times and venues on the live app.

We've already sold over half of our Comedy Night tickets and it will sell out, so grab your ticket very soon! It will be a top night right on your doorstep, with a great show and the bar and BBQ open. See you there!

If you play in the incorrect uniform (including non-GRFC socks and shorts) and are reported by the referee, we have no choice but to pass on the $75 per player per infringement fine. The only exception will be #PlayinPurple socks weekends - more to come!

The Bumper Bardon Raffle will be drawn on Sunday afternoon with online sales closing at midnight Saturday... You've got to be in it to win it!

Kick back as Nick Mackey & Friends take the stage from 4:30 pm. Nick will bring his unique blend of Surf Folk music to Oyster Bay. One of Georges River's finest former Tigers, he has been songwriting, surfing and skating ever since he was a kid. His latest single ‘How Nice’ captures all the elements of his youth. Having had some time off during lockdown to record some new music and harness his sound, he’s stoked to be back playing live shows in Sydney & releasing his new EP in 2022! Joining him on Sunday will be local legend Melissa J Scott from Evolution Rock. It should be a great night!!

HAPPY 90th UNA!!! While we didn't get to host many games over the weekend, we did get to host, along with the Smith family, a celebration of long-serving and current committee member Una Smith's 90th birthday. It was great to see the young and not-so-young taking to the floor to dance the night away and it wouldn't be a party without Life Member Doug Beattie belting out the club song as only Doug can! Una is a founding and life member of the club and we cannot thank Una and all our life members and their families enough for the club they have built that we enjoy today, there wouldn't be many clubs that can boast our strong tradition of volunteers and family! Happy 90th Birthday Una, may there be many more x

Our W9s didn’t win a game last year and were just starting to find their groove when COVID hit. Despite not having had a training session this year, and having a BYE first up, the girls played their first game on the weekend and secured their first-ever win! Lots of happy and muddy girls now have the confidence boost they need for a fun season ahead. Their smiles say it all... Well done girls!!
