"Church Mothers"
Acts 9:36-43

This Sunday, on Mother's Day, we will remember Julia Ward Howe's original "Mothers' Day Proclamation" and those who followed her who gave us this holiday. We will re-member it as a peace holiday, and a time to celebrate women in community---how we nurture and inspire each other and pass on the faith to succeeding generations. Central to our reflections will be Tabitha, also known as Dorcas, but we may touch on Shifrah and Puah, Perpetua and Felicitas, and our Brethren foremothers. Come to celebrate, learn, and through their stories, grow in faith as Pastor Debbie leads us in worship.

Worship online with Living Stream Church of the Brethren on Sunday at 5:00 pm Pacific time; 6:00 pm Mountain time; 7:00 pm Central time; and 8:00 pm Eastern time. Or you may access the recorded archives of our worship at www.LivingStreamCoB,org any time that suits your schedule.

Your Living Stream Board met on Tuesday
At their regularly scheduled meeting on May 3, the Board reviewed the programming, participation, scheduling, and finances of our congregation and shared in some planning for the future.
The Board is planning a "Farewell Recognition" for Pastor Liz who had previously indicated her need to step away from leadership in Living Stream as of August 31. Mark your calendar for the  farewell celebration for Liz immediately after worship on August 7.

Pacific Northwest District Special Time of Prayer on May 5
Please join the Pacific Northwest District this evening, May 5 for a time of prayerfully discerning how best to encourage our congregations and faith communities to reconnect and stay connected in intentional community so we can explore together what God might have in mind for us.
The Envisioning team (Peggy Liley, John Jones, Howard Ullery and Colleen Michael) have scheduled a dedicated time of prayer the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at 7:00 PM Pacific Time via Zoom. We anticipate this being a time of sharing and prayer concerns for our congregations and thoughtful discernment about the direction our District will be heading specifically in terms of ministry and organization. We anticipate we will meet for about 30 minutes each time.
The Dates for this time of prayer are May 5 and 19. The meeting time is 7:00 pm Pacific; 8:00 pm Mountain; 9:00 pm Central; 10:00 pm Eastern time. The Zoom link for these meetings will be: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/236009838 For those joining the Zoom gatherings by phone call, our Meeting ID will be: 236 009 838
