Our 2022 Demo Day will showcase startups from our THRIVE VIII and THRIVE Canada Accelerator programs.

AgroStart Community – A New On-Line Learning Opportunity for AgTech Start-Ups
|
|
One of THRIVE’s major corporate clients, BASF, recently launched a global online community for AgTech start-ups. The community’s members interact with and learn from a growing ecosystem of like-minded start-ups, investors, academics, industry leaders and others. It is intended for technology start-ups, leaders and innovators building or investing in novel AgTech solutions including those who are or wish to become engaged with the AgroStart accelerator program, a THRIVE partner.
Through monthly livestreams, you will hear from, and engage with, experts on strategic “how tos” (including scaling your company, raising capital, and partnering with corporates), important industry and technological trends, and AgTech successes/failures/learnings. Among the speakers, you will find experts from THRIVE’s Leadership Team, as well as founders from current and past accelerator cohorts. In addition, you’ll have access to the Community’s Discussion Board, which provides the opportunity to actively connect, collaborate and learn with peers from around the world.

with Lethbridge College
|

SVG Ventures|THRIVE is excited to announce a new partnership with Lethbridge College to support the growth of early stage agrifood tech entrepreneurs and to bridge the gap between applied research and commercialization.
With the launch of the THRIVE Studio and THRIVE Academy, SVG Ventures is working with post secondaries and applied research centres that are creating and validating the innovations that will drive the future of food and agriculture.
Fundamental to Lethbridge College’s vision of leading and transforming education in Alberta, the Centre for Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CARIE) is a catalyst for economic growth, sustainability and social development in the region.
Working together, SVG Ventures|THRIVE and its leading Agrifood innovation and investment platform, and Lethbridge College, through CARIE, this partnership will look to accelerate development and adoption of innovative solutions to support growth in Canada’s agriculture and food sectors.

F4A expands to new markets
On April 5th 2022, Food4All (F4A), the Luxembourgish startup announced its roll-out in another European market. F4A is now available in Estonia thanks to the partnership with RIMI, the leading retailer in the Baltic region with over 300 shops in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
RIMI's interest in F4A dates back to 2021, when the retail operator selected the start-up from over 200 companies to partner up in the FutureHub accelerator programme, to facilitate and further enable its fight against food waste. Estonia is the 2nd country in which F4A's solution is present.

Pharm Robotics is an AgTech company on a mission to improve animal health standards globally. The system, Sureshot, automates both the data management and inoculation processes providing vaccines, repro, and trace minerals to dairy cows. This exciting new technology has received interest from dairy farmers representing about 470,000 cows globally! Sureshot is still in testing on the CEO’s dairy farm and the company plans to begin selling by the end of 2022.

GroGuru is currently raising a funding round on WeFunder
GroGuru is all about strategic water management for commercial farmers. They help farmers become more profitable by increasing crop yield and more efficiently using water and other scarce resources like fertilizer and energy in a more sustainable way. They have over 100,000 acres under management and existing customers represent a 1M acre deployment opportunity. They did over $830,000 in revenue in 2022.

Connecting manure data with dairy stakeholders for increased sustainability and transparency between the farm, the supply chain and the consumer.
