I am pleased to announce that after years of collecting, recording, and editing my book on lullabies and the science of soothing, I've finally published it!  It's been a long and joyful process, with generosity from many, and I'm ecstatic to be sharing it with you all at last. I'm happy to report that my book Lullaby Wisdom: The Stories, the Songs, and the Science of Soothing is now available locally at Broadway Books and online at www.lullabywisdom.com

It was drawn from stories, songs, and pictures collected over ten years, including many from current and former St. Andrew parishioners (Marilyn & Pat Fleming, Jim & Mary Lou Stewart, Edna Hicks, Janet Purcell, Kelli Calderwood, Joy Ruplinger, Bev Gay, Kay Pasquesi, Tom Caruso, Rick Seaman, & John Villaume).  It is full of diverse personal stories, songs with downloadable audio files, and beautiful watercolor illustrations.

The book also explores the processes of attachment and healthy brain development at play, when soothing a person of any age.  That comes from my interest and certification in Interpersonal Neurobiology, the study of bringing the understandings of neuroscience to everyday life.  You can open the book to any page and enjoy a soothing moment.  It can inspire new parents and grandparents with simple actions they can take to bring more comfort and joy to the next generation.

Blessings,
Licia Seaman

"Doing Your Part for Anti-racism Together"

St Andrew parishioner, Angela Kremer, an equity consultant and trainer will be offering a four-part series for small group discussions on using the R.A.C.E. Method. This series will include personal reflections and spiritual connections.  This same series was offered to St. Andrew groups before COVID. Angela will add new content to support personal anti-racism linked to Catholic spiritual development. The series will be offered in May and June and again in the fall. Specific dates will be published soon.  Angela will be happy to help you decide whether or not this anti-racism learning meets your needs individually or as a group.

Angela will make a donation from the proceeds of this series to support Brown Hope, the 2022 St. Andrew MLK Award winner. This approach is a model of how white-identified collaborators/allies can build alliances of power and invest in co-liberation and long-term relationships with BIPOC-owned firms and nonprofits.

Contact Angela Kremer at angelahkremer@gmail.com.

Encounter for Our Common Home

A National Catholic Campaign for Climate Solutions

Spring 2022

Please join Catholics across the country who are urging their senator to support $555 billion in climate solutions that lower national greenhouse gas emissions and help communities build resilience against the impacts of climate change

The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reaffirms that we must dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions to prevent the most catastrophic impacts of climate change upon our common home and future. Renewable energy reduces reliance on destabilizing petrostates and must be a significant energy source for a peaceable future. We are tragically reminded that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is funded by profits from the export of oil and gas.

We need senators from both political parties to support legislation that reduces dependence on fossil fuels, addresses the climate crisis, and improves prospects for a thriving and peaceful future, especially our most vulnerable neighbors. Some ambitious solutions already exist in the $555 billion in climate provisions within legislation the Senate is considering now. Senators can make profoundly beneficial decisions about our shared future by passing this legislation full of climate solutions.

You can learn more about this effort on the Encounter for Our Common Home campaign website. For more background information, go here. In addition, if you wish to be part of in-person or virtual "Encounters" with your U.S. Senators, be sure to join the Encounter for Our Common Home Campaign by this Friday, April 22nd!

If you have questions, please email us at

Sincerely,
Catholic Climate Covenant
