Upcoming changes to quarantine requirement for close contacts
From 6:00pm AEST Thursday 28 April 2022, there will be no quarantine requirements for close contacts as long as they:
do not have Covid-19 symptoms
test negative every second day for a week from the day of becoming a close contact (day 0, 2, 4 and 6)
wear a mask outside of home for 7 days
do not visit any vulnerable settings (hospitals, residential aged care facilities, disability accommodation services, corrective services facilities and detention centres) for 7 days
let their employer know they are a close contact, and work from home if possible.
Close contacts: Someone is a close contact if they have been with a person that has Covid-19 for more than four hours in a house or other accommodation, a care facility or similar. For more information see the close contacts definition. You are not a close contact if you have had Covid-19 in the past 12 weeks.
Please notify the College if your child is unwell
As Covid-19 is still active in our community we ask you to continue to monitor your child’s/children’s health and if they develop any of the following flu-like symptoms:
fever
sore throat
runny nose
fatigue
vomiting or nausea
cough
shortness of breath
headache
diarrhoea
loss or taste or smell
to keep your child/children at home, seek a PCR or Rapid Antigen test, and to follow the advice of Queensland Health.
No matter the result of the test, your child should stay home until they are well again.
Students who become unwell at school will be isolated and a parent/caregiver will be contacted to collect them.
If your child tests positive
You are required to inform the school by submitting an absence notification for seven days from testing via the Parent Portal or BCE Connect so we can support the student and take any necessary action at a school level. Please use the notes section to add ‘Covid-19’ and the date tested positive.
