ANZAC Day 2022
ANZAC Day 2022 – rainy and cold! But an honour to attend local Hamilton area services and then march in the Brisbane City parade. My father Ted McLachlan DFC survived 32 sorties as the navigator in a Lancaster in WW2 with the RAF 15 Squadron but finished his service with RAAF 466 Squadron in a Halifax. A pleasure to march with the families of other Bomber Command veterans.
Racecourse Road parklet
What do you think about the new Parklet outside the Hamilton Library? Grab a takeaway coffee from one of the great cafes around the area and sit and read a book from the library or catch up with a friend. It is a trial for the area, so if you have any comments click the button below to email the Hamilton Office with your thoughts!

Northshore Hamilton project update
I have recently received an update from the State Government regarding the Northshore Hamilton – Cedar Road & MacArthur Avenue Project. This will make access to Eat Street and Northshore Hamilton easier.

MacArthur Avenue roadway, from Carpark 2 entry to the Angora Road round-about will be open to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians from Thursday 5 May 2022. I have been advised that there will still be a work zone nearby the roadway for continued works by utility providers and directional road signage devices will be in place.

The opening dates for the remaining work zone for new connecting roads - Cedar, Barcham and Karakul Roads - to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians will be issued by the State Government in the coming weeks.
Breakfast Creek Green Bridge
The Breakfast Creek Green Bridge construction is set to begin mid this year! It will provide an improved walking and riding link between the Lores Bonney Riverwalk and the inner city.

Providing a convenient, safe and accessible connection for all bridge users, the final design aims to complement the area’s unique heritage and landscape setting.

Anti-theft screws

In order to help as many members of the community as possible to properly secure their vehicles’ registration plates, the North Brisbane District Crime Prevention Unit has developed packs containing anti-theft screws.

Anti-theft screws are a special type of ‘one-way’ screw that when used to attach your registration plate to your vehicle, can only be removed with a specially designed tool.

This special removal tool is not sold to members of the public and can only be used by police officers. With this simple step, you can save yourself the cost and trouble of having to replace stolen number plates.

If you are a North Brisbane resident, not only can you pick up free anti-theft screws from your local police station, but you can also order them online using a simple form. You can find out more information below.
