Alumni Weekend Preview

With COVID concerns fairly diminished, we're excited to welcome alumni back for a weekend full of fun and festivities! RCCF's Annual Celebration is a "Round Barn Reunion" 

Kickoff Alumni Weekend with great drinks, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and old friends all within the charming confines of the historic Starke Round Barn!  While you're there, you'll learn more about the latest efforts of the Red Cloud Community Fund to make the community the best small town in America. See the invitation below for more details and how to RSVP! The fun begins at 5pm on May 27th at the Round Barn! 

Register now for the 67th RCHS Alumni Banquet! 

Join the honor classes from 1962 (60), 1972 (50), 1982 (40), and 1997 (25) and reminisce about Red Cloud. All RCHS graduates from all classes, their spouses and significant others are welcome. You must register by April 30th (contact Pam or Red Meyer) for the discounted rate. Donations help support scholarships for RCHS Class of 2022!  Happy hour starts at 5pm at the Community Center on May 28th. 

 

The Complete Sid Tobler Collection presented by WCHM & WCF 

Webster County Historical Museum Director Teresa Young and Willa Cather Foundation Education Director & Archivist Tracy Tucker will discuss items from the vast Sid Tobler Collection on May 28-29 from 10am to 12pm at the National Willa Cather Center. After returning from service in the United States Army, Tobler began photographing Red Cloud's business district, its merchants and customers, chronicling both the big events and everyday happenings of the town. His photographs are a visual time capsule of Red Cloud throughout the '50s, '60s, and '70s.

RCCF Color Run 5K/Walk to raise funds for recreation trail 

The Community Fund's Recreation & Health Committee has ambitious plans to create a recreation trail in and around Red Cloud. Help them complete Phase I of the project by registering for the Color Run 5K (8am on May 28th) or with a sponsorship

TVCDC & Downtown Revitalization Tours 

Come see The Valley Child Development Center during the morning of May 28th and learn more about one of the model child development centers in rural America. At 1:30pm, join community leaders and small business owners for a tour of buildings undergoing construction and learn more about the community's efforts at downtown revitalization. The downtown tours will begin at On the Brix and end at Abundant Life Honey (4th & Cedar).

This year's event will be largely informal but will include brief presentations about the importance of Heritage Tourism (which is responsible for this publication) and the need for a Recreation Trail in and around the community. Free and Open to the Public (but please RSVP!).
