Chester Triathlon Club’s annual quiz is back! Hosted by the inimitable quizmaster Ravi, enjoy a range of questions (and maybe even the jokes). Make teams on the night of up to 6 people.

Club Sportive save the date – Sunday 26th June


I’m pleased to announce that this year’s club sportive will take place on Sunday 26th June.

We had a great turnout last year for the sportive so it would be great to repeat that this year.

For the ride, we will be following the Rise Above sportive routes with three distances available (80,120 &160km). All of the routes have a good bit of climbing in them so whichever one you choose will be a tough challenge and you'll definitely have earned some cake afterwards.

It would be great to see as many of you as possible on the ride and make it a great day out. We’ll be finalising the details over the next few weeks but please keep the date free if you’re interested in the event. We will also need some navigators for the rides, if you are interested in assisting with this, we would really appreciate it. Please let us know below or email bike@chestertri.org.uk if you are available to help.

The Tour of Cheshire West
Our multi stage cycling challenge for all abilities returns!

Running from April to September with one stage to complete each month, each of around 6-10 miles (10-15km).

There is a GC, K/QOM and spring competition at play.

The £10 entry fee is split between our charity partner Bren Bikes and the club to cover running costs.

Stage one is a local blast around Upton lanes. This is a short and flat stage, ideally situated close to Chester for the darker April nights.

Swim Update

Fri 29th April - swimming is on as normal (quiz starts 20:30 so you can swim and quiz!)
Mon 2nd May - swimming is off for the bank holiday
Fri 13th May - swimming is off as it is Christleton 5K (helpers required, please contact Will Hamilton)
Fri 3rd June - swimming is off for the bank holiday.

Swim Sessions

Christleton:
19.00 – 20.00 Mondays & Fridays, 5 x single width lanes 
City Baths:
06.00 - 07.00 Wednesdays, 5 x single width lanes
16.00 - 17.00 Saturdays, combined coached technique and un-coached squad swim
18:00 - 19.00 Sundays (may be un-coached)
All sessions are mixed, with lanes arranged by speed. 

Book in advance & only attend the swim session you have booked.

Club Vest Championships

There are only two more qualifying races left in our Club Vest Championships, the Dinas Bran Hill Race on Wed 4th May at 7:15pm, and the final race of the Borders League in Birkenhead Park on Wed 11th May at 7:30pm.

Details for Dinas Bran Hill Race: 7:15pm £5 entry on the day. It's 6.9km with 350m of elevation (4.3miles/1150ft). Venue: Ysgol Dinas Bran School, Llangollen (GR 215423).

Cheshire Track & Field Championships 2022


Cheshire Track & Field Championships 2022 - Macclesfield - Sat 14th & Sun 15th May
A perfect opportunity to get a 5km PB at a guaranteed flat venue! Or, see what you can do over the shorter distances with races ranging from 100m up to 3km over the weekend. The club Wednesday night track sessions (https://www.chestertri.org.uk/swim-bike-run/run/run-sessions/#track-sessions) provide a weekly interval session that will increase your flat speed on the track, and maybe help to get you a County medal! Ellie Perkins will be at either the 5000m on the Saturday or the 3000m on the Sunday (depending in who else wants to give the Track and Field Champs a go!). Deadline for online entries is Saturday 7th May, full details below.

Entry: £8 for first event and £7 per any additional event, +90p admin fee. Enter here.
Closing date: SATURDAY 7 MAY 2022
Eligibility: To compete in the County Championships athletes must have either been born within the present Cheshire County boundaries or have lived within the present County boundaries continuously for the last 9 months; and have not competed in another County Championship or for another County in this competition year. You must have an up-to-date England Athletics registration and be a member of Chester Tri as your first claim club. Club vests or T-shirts must be worn.

Tuesday Night Run Sessions

The Tuesday night run sessions are now able to take larger groups. We start at 18:30 from the entrance to Lime Wood Fields (under the sign). Please continue to book your session in advance, do not turn up to run if you haven't booked.


Wednesday Track Session

The track sessions start at 18:30 at Ellesmere Port Sports Village. You MUST book your session in advance.
