Public Invited to "Where Can Our Garments Go?" at North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum

BISMARCK, N.D. – “Where Can Our Garments Go?”, a free hands-on workshop facilitated by Rebecca Silbernagel, will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. Silbernagel is the owner-operator of Modify Alterations & Boutique in Bismarck. Registration is required at shsnd.eventbrite.com.

Participants should bring one to three clothing articles. Silbernagel will guide the group in brainstorming how the clothing items could be updated, altered, adapted, redesigned, repurposed, or reused. Participants will then begin the creative process on their articles of clothing.

This program is related to the "Fashion and Function: North Dakota Style" exhibit now showing at the ND Heritage Center & State Museum. It is also part of the State Historical Society of North Dakota's Super Saturdays series. Super Saturdays are free cultural programs that include a variety of workshops, lectures, concerts, movies, and tours.

The ND Heritage Center & State Museum is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, contact Erik Holland, curator of education, at 701.328.2792. Find a calendar of upcoming State Historical Society events at history.nd.gov/events.
