Peace be with you,

Spring is here!  Blessings upon all our students who will be receiving the sacrament of First Holy Communion these next two Saturdays. Please pray for them and their families. There will be no daily 9AM Mass on April 30 and May 7 so we can set up for our First Communions.

Our Faith Formation team is preparing for our Summer Middle School Program (SUMP) and Vacation Bible School (VBS).  If you are interested in either program, please register your children by May 15. Click here for more information or to register.

Mackenzie Holian and Nora Pierce, both high school students from our parish, have organized a personal hygiene product drive for Ukrainian orphanages and refugee camps.  Donations can be put in the marked boxes at the doors of the church this weekend

May is the month of our Blessed Mother.  To honor her we will have our May Crowning on May 8, after the 9 AM Mass.  Our First Communion students are invited to wear their First Communion outfits to Mass and for the May Crowning.  On May 15, the Legion of Mary will have an outdoor Rosary Procession at 2 PM, in honor of our Lady of Fatima. The rain date is May 22.

Christ’s Hands ministry will be collecting healthy snacks again the weekend of May 14 and 15.  They want to thank you for your generous donations last month which filled a van!  Our friends at Si, Se Puede after school program were amazed by the generosity of our parish.  Also, in the parish hall on May 21, from 10AM to 2PM, Christ’s Hands will be collecting gently used and new summer clothing for children (ages 12-18).  See below for additional information on sizing and type.

We are continuing with our Monday night viewing of The Chosen series.  This Monday we will be watching episode six.  Join us at 7PM to watch an episode, enjoy complimentary popcorn and beverages, and participate in great conversation.  If you have missed the previous episode(s), there is a link below to the Angel Productions website where you can watch all the episodes for free. Many have enjoyed watching the episodes multiple times as they learn new things and come on Mondays to enjoy the conversation.

The Massachusetts State Legislature is considering passing into law two deeply disturbing bills this session which would legalize Physician Assisted Suicide.  Below you will find the troubling facts about this legislation, as well as links to contact our state legislature so your voice can be heard. The primary focus of elected officials should be dedicated to legislation providing quality health care, mental health care, and palliative care to the sick and dying – particularly in the underserved, poor, and minority communities that suffer the most at the time of need.

Considering the Physician Assisted Suicide bills, we thought this would be a good time to remind parishioners there are resources and information available to you about palliative care. The Archdiocese of Initiative for Palliative Care and Advance Care Planning has a website with information, resources, and links for palliative care.  Also, on CatholicTV, there is a series called Talking of Palliative Care, hosted by MC Sullivan and Dr. Karen O’Brien (a parishioner of St. Theresa Parish).  Information about palliative care and links to both resources can be found on our website by [clicking here.]

Information about all these programs, and more, is available below.

We hope you had a blessed Easter.  We were overjoyed to see everyone at all the Triduum and Easter Masses and services. Your presence was a blessing to us.

Blessings upon you and your family,
Bishop Mark, Fr Anda, Deacon Tam, and staff

Collection for Ukraine—This Weekend!
Two high school students from our parish, Nora Pierce and Mackenzie Holian, are collecting for a certified nonprofit, personal hygiene products for Ukrainian orphanages and refugee camps that are in need.  Nora and Mackenzie have also done research to find a reliable resource to help ship these products overseas. All donations (soaps, shampoo, toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorant, etc.) can be placed in the marked boxes at the doors of the church this weekend.
May Procession to honor Our Blessed Mother
Sunday, May 8, after the 9 AM Mass
Our May Procession is a beloved tradition that we are pleased we can have this year. The May Procession will take place outside. We will begin by the front doors of the church and end at the statue of Mary for the crowning of our Blessed Mother. Flowers will be handed out (or you may bring your own flowers) to be placed in front of our statue of Mary.
In the event of rain, we will modify the procession and instructions will be given at the end of the 9 AM Mass. Our First Communion students are invited to wear their First Communion outfits and to lead the procession.

Rosary Procession in Honor of Our Lady of Fatima
Sunday, May 15 at 2 PM

(Rain date: May 22)
Each year in May, the Church honors the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Queen and our Mother, in special ways. The Legion of Mary invites you to join them for a Rosary Procession around the church. We will unite as a parish, praying the Rosary to honor Our Blessed Mother, while thanking her for all the graces and blessings she has bestowed on us and ask her for her continued intercession in all our needs.

Mass Intentions for 2023
We will begin accepting Mass Intentions for 2023 on Tuesday, May 17. To give all parishioners the opportunity to schedule Mass intentions, we will only be accepting six Masses per person until July 5.  After July 5, you can schedule additional Masses. We also have a Missa pro populo (Mass for the People) every weekend which limits the available 4 PM, 7 AM, and 9 AM Masses.  If you interested in having your Mass intention at the 11 AM communal Mass, we will accept as many as you want beginning May 17.  Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Congratulations!

At the Easter Vigil, we welcomed Timothy Dulong and Alicia Santana to the Catholic faith. Both have been part of our RCIA program (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) this past year.  Blessings upon them both.

Divine Mercy Sunday

On Sunday, April 24, many came to the church to observe Divine Mercy Sunday. Beginning at 3 PM, we offered confession, a presentation on the message to St. Faustina, prayed the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and had adoration.
