Synod Assembly Registration Closes in 2 weeks
The 2022 Southeastern Iowa Synod Assembly will include business items, elections of synod leadership, and worship. Voting members and visitors will gather around the theme, Go Tell the World. Registration Closes May 13th. There will be no registrations allowed after that date.
An in-person assembly will be held:
Friday, May 20, and Saturday, May 21, 2022

Annual Report (Forms A&C) Website closes May 3rd
If your congregation has not yet submitted parochial reports for 2021 (Forms A&C) the website will close on May 3rd and your congregation's numbers will not be counted for 2021. If you have questions about these reports contact Amy Van Dyke, at vandyke@seiasynod.org, 319-338-1273

Southeastern Iowa Synod Provides Special Year-End Gift
Thank you for your faithful stewardship and witness to God’s abundance in 2021. Between your generosity and the stewardship of the Office of the Bishop, the Southeastern Iowa Synod through the guidance of the Synod Council was able to disburse a special, year-end gift of $125,000 to several partners including Lutheran Services in Iowa, Lutheran Disaster Response for the crisis in Eastern Europe, ELCA World Hunger, and the Synod Fund for Leaders.

The Synod Constitution Committee invites congregation teams (3-6 people, including a rostered minister) to a workshop to launch you on the way to updating your congregation’s Constitution, By-Laws, and Continuing Resolutions. At the workshop you will learn:
- How to use and incorporate the ELCA Model Constitution for Congregations.
- How to review your current practices and amend governing documents to reflect those practices.
- How to keep up on changes to the ELCA Model with a process for bringing updates before the congregation.
The same workshop will be conducted on each date at the Synod Center for Ministry in Iowa City.

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America observes 35th anniversary
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) will observe its 35th anniversary on April 30. On this date in 1987, the ELCA constitution was adopted during the opening session of the Constituting Convention in Columbus, Ohio.
The ELCA was formed from a merger of three Lutheran churches – the American Lutheran Church, the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches, and the Lutheran Church in America. Daily Bread Matching Grants are ELCA funds for congregations that can match the grant amount through fundraising. Your congregation could get $1000 for feeding ministries. Applications are now open. Ministries applying for an ELCA Daily Bread Matching Grant for the first time must register by creating an account in ELCA GrantMaker to access the application.
