LYS Day 2022

This Saturday, April 30, 2022, we are joining other small yarn businesses in North America to celebrate another year of creating communities, sharing the love of yarn, and supplying fiber artists with the tools they need to make the world a more beautiful (and warm!) place. Local Yarn Store Day is a joint effort between shops, designers, and yarn producers to share our enthusiasm with you, and to thank you for supporting small, independent, local shops.

This year at Cozy, we have a few special perks for coming in on LYS Day: Jeananne Atthowe of Cerulean Orchid is bringing in a pop-up shop of stickers just for knitters and crocheters, as well as some of her favorite innovative crochet patterns; we have limited-edition kits by Dream In Color for Casapinka's newest design, the Ric-Rac Shawl (these and other fingering-weight yarns will be 15% off and with a free download code when bought for the pattern); we're debuting Malabrigo's newest small-batch version of their popular Sock yarn, Metamorphosis; we have souvenir pins for the first 25 yarn buyers; we have mini-goodie bags and a selection of free patterns and download codes for shoppers... it's going to be fun!

**If you have not been to Cozy on Saturday, for a while, please note that the Farmer's Market takes place in front of the store until 3:00 p.m. AND this Saturday is also the Eugene Marathon; parking and driving may be limited (and tricky-like-a two-sided-lace-pattern).**
Jeananne of Cerulean Orchid is not only an accomplished Northwest crochet designer (https://www.ravelry.com/designers/jeananne-atthowe), but she has also curated a collection of charming and clever stickers for yarn artists that she is bringing to Cozy as part of her pop-up shop! This Saturday, you'll have a chance to meet Jeananne, ask your burning crochet questions, check out her samples and patterns, and shop for new stickers--jazz up your laptop for spring with your yarn fandom!
Two of the biggest cheerleaders for LYS Day have always been Bronwyn of Casapinka and her saucy cat, Sharon. Every year, they create a new pattern and make the codes available free to small-yarn-shop-shoppers, and every year, it's always a hit! The newest version, the Ric-Rac Shawl, is a boomerang-shaped, textured shawl using any two colors of fingering-weight yarn. We have pre-matched yarn sets in kits from Dream In Color in their cashmere-blend Smooshy base, as well as fresh batches of single skeins in Dream In Color's Jilly and Tosh Merino Light.
