APRIL 2022

ISSUE: #04

Kia Orana ki to tatou au kōpu tangata o te Enterprising Families.

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter break and were able to enjoy time away with your loved ones. This month we experienced a bit of needed change with the likes of our New Zealand borders reopening to international travellers as well as a shift from red to orange traffic light setting. For many, it can be a bit nerve racking and somewhat unfamiliar having to adjust to changed restrictions, but on the bright side it’s reassuring to know that we are moving towards more normality in our lives post Covid-19.

This month’s edition will touch base on business support and opportunities available for you and your business. Whether you are looking to upskill or are in need of funding/grants for your business, this edition will have you covered. We will also share information on what life in orange traffic light setting means for you and your business and how to best utilise the resources available to you.

We also wanted to inform you of the upcoming events/markets that are happening in the Mangere Region that you and your family can attend and participate in.

Don’t forget to like and follow our social pages on Facebook and Instagram to keep to date with Enterprising Families’ notices.

Business Support Services available for you.

What does orange light mean for your business?

The traffic light settings allow businesses to open and operate with flexibility while protecting our hospitals and health system. The framework will continue to protect New Zealanders, while also providing more certainty and new opportunities. It minimises the impact through three settings – green, orange, and red. The requirements apply by activity. If your business carries out a number of different activities, you will need to consider how best to meet the requirements for each one. For example, a mall may have a food court (food and beverage rules apply), general retail (retail rules), and hairdressers (close proximity rules apply). If your business carries out several different activities that can't be separated, you will need to operate under the more stringent rules.

It is recommended you use the COVID-19 Resource Toolkit as it has all the resources and signage needed which you can easily download and use depending on what level of the COVID-19 Protection Framework your business is in. You can view this tool here.

The generic rules for your business, operating under orange are:
