The publication "Energy Poverty in Greece. Citizens' awareness and addressing the phenomenon" developed by Heinrich Boell Stiftung Thessaloniki and INZEB is now available online.

The aim of the publication is to present the results of the survey conducted in more than 1000 households in the period 2018-2020 in Greece, regarding the level of citizens' awareness on the energy poverty,
their views on various issues directly or indirectly related to the phenomenon but also how they perceive their own role in energy poverty alleviation.

Interesting examples from Europe but also existing national policies concerning energy poverty mitigation, are included in the publication.

We are discussing about the energy market & the energy crisis, in simple words. How can consumers be protected?


INZEB and Electra Energy organised the online event entitled “We are discussing about the energy market & the energy crisis, in simple words. How can consumers be protected?“ on April 14th, in collaboration with the Heinrich Boell Stiftung Thessaloniki and the Consumers Association – Quality of Life (EKPOIZO), in the framework of the Energy Democracy Dialogues initiative.

The event was live streamed via Facebook and YouTube, attracting a significant number of attendees, who wished to understand how the energy market works and explore the tools that consumers have to be further empowered and energy independent.

The key note speaker of the event was Mr. Dimitris Kardomateas, Energy Consultant, former General Director of Strategy & Development of Natural Gas Transmission System Operator and his presentation aimed to clarify key concepts in the energy market while also interesting interventions followed in the next sessions by representatives from Consumers' Association “The Quality of Life”, EKPIZO, Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Greece, Electra Energy, INZEB and Greenpeace Greece.

Final European Roadshow
The event "Facilitating Energy Efficiency Project Financing at an Early Stage: Recommendations from the Triple-A project" is organised for May 10th 2022 to mark the end of the H2020 Triple-A project, presenting the project’s key-findings and recommendations.
Alice Corovessi, Managing Director, INZEB will be presenting in the 1st session "Triple-A contribution to Energy Efficiency Financing" and in the 3rd "Stakeholder Perspectives" of the event, as partner of the synergy project SMAFIN and as Advisory Board Member of Triple-A project, respectively.

The event is hosted by Dutch Triple-A partners ABN AMRO & IEECP in collaboration with all partners of the Triple-A project.

Summer School, Citizen Energy Movement in the Balkans 
28-30 June 2022, Thessaloniki


The Summer School, Citizen Energy Movement in the Balkans organised by EUCENA and COMPILE projects, on 28-30 of June 2022 in Thessaloniki, aims at fostering networking at the Balkan level and cross-country exchange of ideas, tools, knowledge, and good practices.

Among the co-organisers of the event are: INZEB, POWERPOOR and CONGREGATE projects.

Heinrich Böll Stiftung Thessaloniki is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a two-day event full of ideas, inspiration, discussions and actions!
 
We are happy to be there contributing to the event, celebrating also our long-standing collaboration with Heinrich Böll Stiftung Thessaloniki. 
The 1st day of the event Re-Think! Ideas Forum intends to answer questions such as: How can the economy recover a sense of public purpose? Why is it urgent to bridge the urban-rural divide? Why is it essential to set the foundations for energy democracy?
The 2nd day of the event Re-Act! Ideas in Motion is dedicated in a number of events aiming at putting ideas into practice.

Alice Corovessi, Managing Director, INZEB will speak about energy poverty mitigation in Greece at the panel session "Paving the way for Energy Democracy" of the 1st day of the event.

Roundtable event: No green transition without green buildings.
12 May 2022, online

MEP Morten Helveg Petersen and SYNERGI invite you to a roundtable event on the recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

At a time of insecurity and extremely high energy prices, the case for energy savings in buildings and reducing household bills are more relevant than ever. The recast of EPBD represents a unique opportunity to increase energy efficiency in Europe.

The 2nd POWERPOOR Liaison Group Meeting in Greece


The 2nd POWERPOOR Stakeholder Liaison Group Meeting (SLGM) in Greece was held online on 17 March 2022 aiming to discuss the developments of the POWERPOOR project. 
In this framework, stakeholders from various sectors gathered together to work on solutions and activities towards tackling energy poverty, explore potential synergies and exchange knowledge and experience.

2nd SMAFIN National Roundtable in Greece

The 2nd SMAFIN National Roundtable in Greece, organised by INZEB and CRES within H2020 SMAFIN project, took place online on April 14th 2022 with the participation of approximately 60 project's stakeholders from various sectors  and lasted 4,5 hours.

The roundtable consisted of 3 parallel sessions, each of them discussing and focusing on a different key topic related to energy efficiency.
The 1st parallel session concerned "Financing energy efficiency in residential buildings", the 2nd was about "Financing energy efficiency in public buildings" and the 3rd one was regarding "Taxonomy".

In the closing plenary that followed, all participants got the chance to hear the key takeaways from all parallel sessions, which will be also publicly available by the end of June, at SMAFIN website.
