Lyrics fit for a QueenAylsham High School has been holding a poetry competition for its students, who have been working hard this week composing poems on the themes of ‘Gold’, ‘Silver’, ‘Diamond’ or ‘Platinum’. We are told they are truly outstanding and we may be allowed to add some of them to our Platinum Jubilee Tributes page. The Winners will have their poems read at a special Jubilee service at Aylsham St Michael’s Church on June 4th. |

| Royal Lego in LynnHoward Junior School children in King’s Lynn are the proud possessors of a Lego classroom which they have been putting to very good use this week by working on builds for the Platinum Jubilee. We will be awaiting the results with great interest — they’ve told us to ‘Watch this space’ so we’ll definitely be doing just that! |
| | On your marks, get set…Town Close School in Norwich must really be looking forward to their Platinum Jubilee Street Party on May 26, when the winning pudding in a baking competition launched this week will be served to the entire school! We hope to hear more about the winning recipe so we can try it at home. |

| | Norfolk Girl Guides Take a Step Back in TimeGirlguiding Anglia will be hosting the most incredible Platinum Jubilee Celebration at Hautbois Activity Centre, near Coltishall. In addition, the Norfolk Girl Guides are putting on a beautifully thought-out ‘Warm-up Event’ which will focus on activities linked to Princess Elizabeth and her time as a Girl Guide. | |

| Brownies Deserve their Woodworking BadgeMeanwhile, in the North West Norfolk division, Docking Brownies have built a huge planting box which will be used to help adorn the village for the Jubilee celebrations in June. These Girls most definitely Can! |

| Thetford Colour RunThe Jubilee Colour Run on the 5th June, co-organised by the Charles Burrell Centre in Thetford, offers both a 5km and a 400m route to participants, who are also more than welcome to walk or wheel the route. |

Spotlight on the Norfolk Platinum Jubilee Commitee: Michael Harrowven JPMichael is leading on Supporter EngagementMichael says: “It’s a privilege and a delight to be taking part in supporting the celebrations here in Norfolk for what is a remarkable achievement in Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne. Seventy years of unparalleled service to the country and the Commonwealth – This is an occasion to mark, to remember and also a great opportunity for local businesses to show their support, whilst gaining a global audience. To this end we are very appreciative of the enormous generosity already being afforded us by local businesses, organisations and individuals.” Michael is a Magistrate in Norfolk and having spent a career in Banking and Asset Management, now holds a number of Non-Executive Director appointments. |
