Dear <<First Name>>,

Our worship theme for Sundays in May is Unexpected Journeys, and this coming Sunday we turn from Paul’s unexpected encounter with the Divine on the Damascus road and will look at the apostle Peter’s journey around Judea with a couple of very surprising healings. We’ll encounter a community that was led by an unexpected person for that time – a woman named Tabitha – who ministered to a very marginal group in the community.

God calls people we don’t expect to be leaders: a hard-line instigator against the Jesus movement becomes an evangelist to the Gentiles, a common fisherman does miracles and preaches the gospel, and a woman shows by her talents and efforts that she is a leader in ministry too.

I wonder if we, either as individuals or as a community, are being called along to an unexpected journey - to ministry ourselves, or to supporting and validating someone who is already doing the work? What does that look like? How can we name it once we see it?

Blessings and light, Pastor Renée

Wow – What a Weekend!

This past weekend about 50 folks of all ages in the Trinity family gathered at Redwood Glen Conference Center for a weekend of study, reflection, fellowship and worship. It was good to gather again after a two-year absence!

The leadership team for this event, Cathy Lehr, Sara Haller and Keri Satterwhite, organized a wonderful event, and so many others contributed their talents in variety of areas: music, engaging with our children, organizing games, bringing s’mores supplies (Ghiridella chocolate for the win!) and more.

If you wish to “pay it forward” for next year’s event, you can send a check with GGA Pay It Forward in the subject line, or contribute online (use the GGA Pay It Forward fund in the dropdown menu).
