Dear friends,
May, the month of Mother Mary is near!
It is the month in which Blessed Titus Brandsma will be canonized; will our parish be called Saint Titus Bransma parish from then on?
It is the month in which the Netherlands commemorate the victims of wars, and celebrate our freedom.
A very special month for some of our ICC members: Our ICC couple Regina and Robin will get married ! Before that, Robin will recieve the sacrament of confirmation and, furthermore, Emmadieu, the 4 year-old-daughter of Erika and Ricky will be baptized.
Ascension day is celebrated in May, of course.
Furthermore, there will be two very special days in May: one for you young people (!) and one for the elder fragile people and people with physical disabilities. For both we ask your help to spread the information.

Blessed Titus Brandsma becomes Saint Titus Brandsma ! (May 15)
On May 15, World War II martyr Titus Brandsma will be declared saint, together with two other blessed.
Will our parish be called the Saint Titus Brandsma Parish from then on? Will our logo, names and addresses of internetsites have to be changed ? Well, these are all possible practical consequences of something beautiful !
The Holy Mass at the Vatican will begin at 10:00 hr AM

But you can also go our church in Rhenen, to watch a special program about the canonization on a big screen with other parisheners, after celebrating Mass together. Onset Holy Mass: 08:30 hr AM.

Special International Young people Mass ! (May 15)
On May 15, the international Mass will be a very special Mass, a young people Mass!
The music will be provided by the Dutch young people choir from Ede, the International choir AND the African choir!

We did this on purpose, of course, in order to stimulate you :o)
Just come to Mass and you can see and meet them and their friends in real life !
And then, after Mass, there will be an informal meeting:

Yes, of course you want to inspire each other to think for possible activities for the young people of this parish, don't you? And perhaps you also want to share with others what Catholic Faith means for you?
On May 15, after the special international Young People Mass, you will get the opportunity to do this in an informal meeting between the International Students and the Dutch young people.
During this meeting you will be invited to share in groups your thoughts about the two questions:
What does Catholic Faith mean for you ?
Do you have concrete suggestions / ideas for activities for this parish, especially related to students ?
Your suggestions will be most welcome for the pastoral team!

Baptism and Confirmation
Happy news !
In the International Mass of May 22, Robin Braster will recieve the sacrament of confirmation and, furthermore, Emmadieu, the 4 year-old-daughter of Erika and Ricky will be baptized.
So this promises to be a beautiful Holy Mass!

Ascension (May 26)
On Thursday May 26, Ascension will be celebrated with a Holy Mass at 11:00 AM.
The Mass will be in Dutch, but English translations will be available.
Please feel welcome to join Mass.
There will be no Mass at 18:30 on that day.

For the sick and elder people
May 31 (Tuesday), Spread the news: A very special pilgrimage !
Especially for the sick and elder people.
In our church in Renkum, Tuesday May 31, 10:30 - 16:00 hr (Dorpsstraat 1, 6871 AA Renkum)
Aim:
To give pilgrims with a fragile health or physical disability a wonderful spiritual day in our church.
After coffee/tea, there will be a Holy Mass, a lunch, opportunity for a personal conversation with a priest, flowerprocession, etcetera.
Do you know anybody who would qualify for this, i.e. do you know someone who you would like to award this beautiful pilgrimage? Perhaps after two years without attending Mass? Then please register for this pilgrimage.
A lot is possible in consultation, even a bed or a comfortable chair in church.
Lunch will be according to dietary requirements, of course.
This pilgrimage has been a tradition for many years now. So we have a lot of experience.

Preparing / serving / cleaning
We are allowed to drink coffee/tea again after mass !
But before we can drink coffee/tea, it has to be prepared and served.
And afterwards the dishes have to be done, and things have to be cleaned.
So... we need volunteers !
Just fill in the list in the Verrijzeniszaal. Thank you!
Baking
Before corona, it was tradition that some ICC members (if they felt like it) brought (home made) cookies or cakes with them for coffee/tea.
If you feel like it, don't hesitate to continue this tradition ;o)
