First of all, thank you so much for your generous support of RLM Congo. Because of you, many lives have been (changed/saved/transformed).
Because of the Lord’s faithfulness in these last 10 years, we are convinced that many more lives can be transformed as we move forward in this
mission He has given us. We want to share with you a little of what the Lord is doing and where we want to grow.

In Ludwindja, we have two primary ministries: our Feeding Program and our Child Sponsorship Program. The Feeding Program at the Clara
Feeding Center serves one meal to 450 children three days a week.

The Child Sponsorship Program currently serves 360 widow-led families who support 600 children. This program has proven very effective. In the
last seven years, over 100 families have become self-sustaining and no longer need support from RLM. In addition, these women are helping to
train other families in growing gardens, raising chickens, and becoming self-supporting.

In Kavumu, we have a Feeding Program serving 325 children. Thanks to a generous partner of RLM, these 325 children receive one meal a day, five
days each week. We are already seeing that these children are healthier now than when we started. Also, work is underway to purchase land and
build a feeding center there. We praise the Lord for the fruit of the labor in Kavumu!

The main reason I am writing you today is to let you know about a very real and urgent need we have. As a result of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, food and gas prices in DR Congo have risen about 30% since January. This has resulted in a $3,000 budget shortfall for March and April. Also, in January, RLM designated resources to give two cups of porridge to each of the 200 children. Now, in order to feed 450 children, each child is now only receiving one cup of porridge three days each week! This situation needs to be remedied immediately.

We want to accomplish the following in Ludwindja:

• Feed the 450 children two cups of porridge 5 days/week. This will cost $4,000 per month.
• Add all 115 widow-led families to the Child Sponsorship Program. This will cost $500/family for a year.
• Provide Emergency Food Relief care packages to 1,500 families through the 10 local churches. This is expected to cost $10,000.
