FROM OUR
CRITTER CORNER
Discover on your next visit.
|
|
Littlefoot going for a walk around Gift Shop of Discoveries. He is adjusting to being around more people. His medium harness is a little bit big. The small was too tight. The visiting kids weren't quite sure what to make of this big guy. Asian Water monitors are one of the top three largest lizards in the world. They are carnivorous, meaning the eat meat. In the wild they'll eat anything alive or dead that they can get in their mouth. Littlefoot eats whole foods like frozen and then thawed rats and chick's. Sorry, tofu is not enough for him. He has been fed by his handlers his whole life and is surprisingly gentle picking up food. He's about 6.5' long and 45 pounds. He can grow to 9' and 100 pounds. Stop by JMDC's Critter Corner to see Littlefoot when you come for a visit.

However, Xena, the tarantula, is not nearly as fierce as her namesake. Xena is, in fact, very docile. Of the 900 tarantula species globally, the Mexican red-knee tarantula is one of the most docile...READ MORE
