Soil Cycle is Expanding Operations!

Soil Cycle is over the moon to be expanding operations to a second location! In addition to our headquarters on 1st St, you'll soon be able to find us over on Trail Street as well. There is a lot of work to be done to get this amazing second location up and running. Things are already well underway! We held a massive clean up to kick start our presence on Trail Street and lots of great work is happening there, weekly. Huge shout out to our volunteers for all the work that has already been accomplished!

If you want to come check it out in person and have a little time this weekend, we would love all the help we can get at our second Trail Street Work Day!
Beginning at 10AM tomorrow, Saturday (4/30)

See ya there!
Changing Seasons Bring Changing Roles at Soil Cycle!
Soil Cycle is thrilled to welcome a new executive director- Hannah Brown! Hannah hails from Indiana originally and has been an avid volunteer at Soil Cycle for the past year. We're excited to have her passion and experience for environmental education expand our mission. During the past month Caitlyn has been onboarding Hannah while also stepping into her new advisory position as president for the Soil Cycle Board! We are so glad to have Caitlyn's continued wisdom and guidance in this way. Soil Cycle is entering an exciting new chapter with amazing folks at the helm!
If you haven't yet, feel free to stop by and welcome Hannah to the team!

Compost Give Back!

We have been sifting like crazy on site, and even built 2 more aerated bins to help compost dry out during the wet, spring season. This month we delivered over 30 bags of fresh soil back to members- in a snowglobe! We're thankful to a great group of volunteers for making the give back possible.

Sticker Reward Program

CALLING ALL MEMBERS!
We just launched a Produce Sticker Reward program- meaning you can win prizes for removing your produce stickers before composting your food scraps. Produce stickers are Soil Cycle's biggest contaminator. Since produce stickers are most commonly made of vinyl or plastic, they do not decompose in the composting process.
We're excited to start filling our walls, rather than our compost, with your produce stickers!
Did we mention that there's prizes?!
Missoula Gives is almost here!

We are currently expanding our operations to a second location, and that potential growth depends on the community's continued support!

With your help, this growth will enable us to our operations to better serve indivudual neighborhoods and member growth, expand educational demonstrations, and collaborate in even more ways to create a more sustainable community!

If you are able to donate this year during Missoula Gives, we ask that you please consider making Soil Cycle one of your chosen organizations so that we may support our exciting growth opportunities!

Check out the Soil Cycle's Missoula Gives Page and please consider giving on or before May 5th and 6th!
EPI and Soil Cycle
Check out this awesome article featuring one of our board members and cyclists, Mari Houck!

"Waste reduction and compost production are part of Soil Cycle's mission, but their work doesn't stop there. Much like EPI, Soil Cycle strives to educate and empower people to live more eco-conscious lifestyles. Soil Cycle offers workshops on how to compost at home, ultimately giving people the knowledge and resources they need to no longer rely on compost collection services. The educational workshops truly showcase the organization's priority of creating a culture of environmental care over turning a profit."

Thanks to UM's Students for a Healthy Climate!

This past month we had some incredible volunteer help from the University of Montana's Students for a Healthy Climate Club! They sifted and bagged all the compost needed for our spring give-back. We're so thankful to these students for their hard work with us and all they do to better our community and world.
Hera's Happenings

Our compost queen has been spending lots of time snoozing under the honeyberry bush, and supervising our spring sifting.

She has even taken a liking to our new garden boxes, which appear to be growing cats when she's around!
Join us next month, in partnership with Garden City Harvest, for the Great Day of Planting! Click here to learn more

Thank You For Your Support!

With Love, from our Board and Crew!
Keep on turning...
