CANNABIS RETAIL IN OLD TOWN ON CITY COUNCIL AGENDA--MAY 2 at 5:00

Note: We cannot contact the Councilors about the HPO-5 cannabis matter prior to the meeting.

City Council will review the 2021 IDO Annual Update at its hearing on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 5 p.m.
Proposed Floor Amendments
City Councilors have proposed several floor amendments to be considered by the full City Council.    Proposed Floor Amendments - as of April 25, 2022
 
Any floor amendments that are adopted by the City Council would change the Redline Draft that includes conditions of approval recommended by the Environmental Planning Commission in December 2021 and may change the amendments passed by the Land Use, Planning, and Zoning (LUPZ) committee on March 30th and April 13th.

Hearing #1: May 2, 2022, 5 p.m. - Hybrid Meeting
Staff will provide an overview of the 2021 IDO Annual Update and present proposed floor amendments, and Council will take public comments.
  • To provide public comments to the Committee, in-person or virtually, everyone must sign up by 4:00 pm on the day of the meeting by completing the web form that will be available on the Council agenda, expected to be posted on Legistar on Friday, 4/29th.

    • Zoom: Via information provided in the Council Agenda

Next Steps
Council will review and may vote on proposed floor amendments to O-22-10 at the next City Council Meeting on May 16, 2022.

Note: For the Small Area amendments, City Council will be acting quasi-judicially (i.e. similar to judges). For that reason, you cannot contact your Councilor directly about the proposed changes affecting Old Town HPO-5 outside of public hearings. Instead, please contact Council planning staff.
MOTHER'S DAY IN OLD TOWN--MAY 8TH
STREET CLOSURES
On Sunday, May 8, The Department of Arts & Culture is hosting Mother’s Day in Old Town which will take place in and around Plaza Vieja from 1-5 p.m. Enjoy live entertainment, free children's activities, local food, shopping, and fun for the whole family.
 
Street Closures:
All streets closures will be in effect from 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 to 6 p.m. Sunday May 8.
  • North Plaza St. will be closed.
  • South Plaza St. will be closed from Romero St. to San Felipe St.
  • Romero St. will be closed from Church St. to South Plaza St.
  • Church St. will not be open to westbound traffic from San Felipe St.
  • San Felipe St. will remain open.
 
Businesses:
Vehicles will not be allowed into the closed area beginning at 10 p.m. on Saturday night. Please let your customers and staff members know that they have access to your business from the surrounding side streets.
 
Residents:
Parking will not be allowed on the streets during the closure. If you live in the area and need access, please call ahead of time to coordinate. We can be reached at 505-768-3531.
 
Neighborhoods:
All streets surrounding the event area will remain open. Please be aware that there will be increased traffic in the area during the event.
 
Bus Service:
Bus service will not be impacted.

The next Old Town association meeting will be held on Monday, May 2nd, at 5:00 p.m. at Gobble This restaurant, 308 San Felipe Street NW.

STEP 1--Send email that you want to have your business listed on the Old Town website. Just fill in your name and your business name. You'll receive an automated response telling you how to do Step 2--making payment.
STEP 2--Follow the directions in the email you receive, and make a $10 payment directly to lobo.net so we can continue having the website hosted. Get a receipt for proof of payment.
 
STEP 3--Forward your payment receipt by email to oldtown@bottger.com. (It will trigger the next automated email to you.)
 
STEP 4--You'll receive a link to a Google form by email. Please complete all of the information. Note that most fields are required. There are only a couple of optional fields. No photos, logos or images. When you complete the form, submit it. The information you provided will then create your listing.
