Amalgamation: The Journey Ahead, Help Us Find Our New Name

Worship with all 3 congregations.
Alma Community Centre
We’ll receive the amalgamation proposal, learn about it and talk together.

June 12
Congregational Meetings
Bethany UC at 9:20 am
Elora UC at 12:30 pm
Each congregation will discuss the amalgamation proposal and decide whether it will be part of the new congregation.

Fall 2022
If the amalgamation proposal is approved, the joining congregations will spend the fall coming to an end, and the new congregation will begin. The particular timeline for that will still need to be decided.
We're looking for our New Name
We need your ideas! The Amalgamation Team is asking for your input to compile a list of possible names that can be used for our new joint congregation. We appreciate any suggestions that you put forward.  Please submit by July 1 to John William’s email johnlw@sentex.net or by telephone 519-843-5050.

Minister's Leave
Beginning on May 2, Greg will be taking a leave of absence consisting of two weeks study leave and followed by two weeks of rest from his ministerial duties.

This leave has the support of his physician, and the board Chairs at Elora and Bethany.  In making these arrangements the M&P Committee, together with Greg, has also consulted with appropriate support personnel in the United Church's Western Ontario Waterways region.
May Worship Services
May 8
11:00 at Elora UC and online
The Bethany & Elora congregations will be worshipping together. Phil Irish will be leading our service.

May 15
9:20 at Bethany UC | 11:00 at Elora UC and online
Jeff Smith will be our worship leader.

May 22
9:20 at Bethany UC | 11:00 at Elora UC and online
Jeff Smith will be our worship leader.

May 29
1:00 pm at the Alma Community Centre and online
The Alma, Bethany, and Elora congregations will be gathering together. Worship will be led by our amalgamation steering time.
