Dear All,

Hope this email finds you well. Under the ambit of Leicester's newly established Institute for Environmental Futures, I am forming a research and practitioners team to study the causes and circumstances that lead to avoidable deaths in the mining sector in Brazil and Papua New Guinea.

If would like to be part of this team could you kindly email me (nsrb1@le.ac.uk) and Mr Julian Coetzee (julian.c@avoidable-deaths.net) ASAP so that we can invite you for the internal meeting, which is taking place on 6 May, followed by 'Scoping Workshop' with internal and external stakeholders on 30 June 2022.

It is essential to have some experience or knowledge in the mining sector or disaster reduction/climate change in the context of the mining sector in low-and middle-income countries.

We would also appreciate if you could put us in touch with relevant experts that we can invite for the Workshop and future collaboration.

Many thanks in advance.
