With each passing day I am continually reminded of the strength we need only comes from our abiding in the Lord.

All praise to the Lord that our recent trip back to Aklavik was a success. We realized very quickly that the cold temperatures were going to make Pam very weak. She was not able to do as much as she wanted, but several ladies were able to come to the house and help her sort, pack, and sell much of our things that we are not bringing back to the states. Andrena was also able to be off from her work and stay with us the entire time. By the final Thursday we had most of our personal belongings packed in the trailer and got it to Inuvik. Two more trips over on the ice road on Saturday and everything was finished. While there we also accepted an offer on the house and should close on it in a few weeks.

Though the Lord gave great physical strength for the week, the biggest blessing of the trip were all the people we saw that the Lord had put in our lives over these last 16 years. Many, some of which never came to church, stopped in to say goodby and thank us for just being there. On Friday night our living room was filled with many of our church family. Most were people that Pam and I had led to the Lord. As this small group of believers met to say goodby there were laughs and tears, but most importantly there was praise and honour to the Lord.  What a humbling time to be reminded of all the great things He has done in and through our lives.

We got back to the states late on Tuesday night. Pam will resume her treatment schedule on Friday the 29th. The oncologist wants to do a couple more treatments and then another scan to see how the cancer is responding. She is feeling better already just being out of the cold temperatures.

Transitioning out of a ministry like this is not a quick or easy task. Over the next couple of months I will be working with Pastor Featherstone from Inuvik and the members in the church in Aklavik turning over all the ministry and administrative responsibilities that we had there. We are all in prayer for another missionary family to come and continue the work in Aklavik as well as to the other communities in the Western Arctic. I will have to make a trip up this summer, probably in July, and another one in early fall. Praying That Pam will be able to travel with me for the fall trip.

You have all been a great encouragement to us.
