This month at LID Pulishing we'll mark this year's Mental Health Awareness Week from 9 to 15 May 2022 and he official theme this year is 'loneliness'.
Loneliness may affect many of us at one time or another, and we know that loneliness can be both the driver for and a product of poor mental health. During the global Covid-19 pandemic, many of us were forced to isolate and stay away from loved ones, which led to an increased sense of loneliness for many of us.
That's why during Mental Health Awareness Week we would like to encourage you to get in touch with loved ones - family and friends, no matter whether you do it online or in person.
Here're some tips to help you, or someone you know, feel less alone:
- Get active - working out, or even a walk in the park, always increases your happy hormone and is also a great way to meet new like-minded people
- Write it down - journaling is a great way to battle loneliness. It helps you to process your emotions and gives us a clear perspective
- Go online - whether you’re playing someone in your favourite game, or simply connecting in forums with others, chatting online can be a great way to battle loneliness
And if you feel like reading a new good book to gain more insight about positive mental health and wellbeing, we've got a few suggestions for you!
