From the Parish House
Historically, the heart of the Catholic church in Australia has been its parishes and its schools. These have been equally matched by Catholic Health, Catholic Welfare and Catholic Social Services. Over time the mission and purpose of our key missionary thrusts need to be revisited, renewed and re-articulated for the present day.

Parish Life Teams: A new Ministry commences
After three months of preparation our Parish Life Teams are up and running and will be present in our five churches from this weekend. This new ministry is in response to the Parish Survey undertaken in 2020 and of the new reality within which our partnered parishes now exist. The aim of the Parish Life Teams is to provide a regular welcoming face at each of our five Churches.

Ann Rennie Reflects
Catholic is my language, Catholic is the coat I wear, Catholic is the house in which I live, wrote the American essayist, Brian Doyle, and I know just what he means. It’s hard to describe the intangibles of belonging to a faith except to say that over the years it becomes part of how you see yourself and the way you respond to the world around you.

School Voices
The students and staff of Our Lady of Good Counsel Primary School celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel and the anniversary of the Dedication of the church. The day started by meeting as a school and parish community for Mass. Throughout the day, each class participated in a drumming incursion to celebrate and spread the joy of the day.

Recently Deceased and Anniversaries
Let us pray... that those who have died may sit in glory at the feet of Christ, especially Peter Foster, Barry Gregory, Edward Kiernan, John McCormack, Lisa Tragardh-Daly, Joseph Xipell, and that those whose anniversaries occur at this time might continue to know God's love, particularly Donald Baines.
If you would like a particular anniversary of death remembered in the weekend newsletter and Prayers of the Faithful, please contact the Parish Office by phone or email.
