The war in Ukraine has a disproportionate impact on racialised people seeking safety in Europe. Whether it be when leaving Ukraine to reach neighbouring countries or when accessing basic needs and services, they are met with violence and exclusion. ENAR has been calling out the double standards in the management of this crisis and advocating for frameworks that protect all people fleeing the conflict. The ENAR Foundation has set up an Emergency Response fund to operationalise it further.
The fund is established in order to support grassroots organisations providing financial, legal, and material assistance to racialised individuals and communities fleeing Ukraine. The programme covers expenditures such as transportation, accommodation, subsistence, legal support, mental health support, consular support, and direct costs supported by the organisation to manage these activities.
