If you attended last night’s free workshop, we ask you to take a minute to fill out this quick evaluation. Your feedback will help inform and fund future workshops. If you were unable to make it, we hope to share a recording soon.
Last night was a reflection of the talent and expertise The Chicago Reporter newsroom fostered. It is the result of generations of training, mentoring and work. And that, along with the strong data-driven reporting on race and equity, is what we want to continue.
The workshop was sponsored by the Chicago chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists and the newly formed Investigative Project on Race and Equity, which was created by Chicago Reporter alumni and supporters from around the nation who organized as Friends of The Chicago Reporter in September 2020.
Thank you to everyone who attended last night to better understand covering systemic racism. And a very special thank you to our wonderful panelists:
Alden K. Loury, senior editor, WBEZ’s Race, Class and Communities desk.
Jeff Kelly Lowenstein, director, Center for Collaborative Investigative Journalism.
Kari Lydersen, co-director, Social Justice News Nexus, Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Asraa Mustufa, digital editor, International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.
The Investigative Project supports data-driven reporting, trains young journalists and collaborates with media organizations to shine a light on issues of race and equity, which are critical to the future of Chicago and the nation. Thank you for making our first public event a success!
