Megan J. Gray is a Class of 2011 graduate and is currently an assistant professor in Pediatrics at Dell Medical School, who enjoys precepting and teaching medical students and residents. Her interests include primary care, community health, and health policy, specifically the intersection of immigrant health and prevention of childhood obesity and Type II diabetes. She is also interested in adolescent and reproductive medicine, and health education policy in the U.S. and globally and is currently active in a working group on unique health issues for refugee children from Latin America.

Daniel Nyancho graduated from Northern Illinois University before coming to Long SOM. He is currently the President of SNMA and the Class of 2025 SGA representative and will also be one of the three mentors for the incoming MD/MPH Class of 2026. When asked to reflect on the importance of diversity in medicine and public health, Daniel said “Less than 5% of physicians are black. As one of the few in training, we have the responsibility and pressure to demonstrate excellence, following the paths of predecessors and creating new ones. I am fortunate to be in an environment that supports my needs and concerns and enables me to be authentically me.” | | MD/MPH LSOM Office Program EvaluationThis anonymous questionnaire will ask questions about the activities of the Long School of Medicine Undergraduate Medical Education Office’s MD/MPH Program Office (Dr. Barbara Taylor, Stephanie Gutierrez). Professor Zachary E. Shapiro, JD, MSc is a Research Fellow with the Solomon Center’s Brain Injury Project at Yale Law School, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medical Ethics Research in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, and Co-Chair of the Hospital Ethics Committee at the Rockefeller University Hospital in New York City. He will be speaking about medical ethics, particularly regarding the rights of patients experiencing neurological disorders that affect consciousness. Additionally, he will discuss his experience with the Fellowship at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics. To be eligible to serve as a tutor, you must have mastery of the subject matter in the following courses, and you must maintain a High Pass average in all subjects in the medical education program to date when you apply to be a tutor.
