Pandemic commentaries by first-year writing students

In the Spring of 2021, I asked (though maybe “required” is a better word here) my first-year writing students to develop their own commentary piece on the pandemic. I left the topic open-ended. The only true requirement, at least in terms of topic selection, was that their commentary revealed a silver lining of sorts. How could the students envision the pandemic as a catalyst for positive change?

The Campus Advisor has recently published an article ranking the top thirty most student-friendly cities in the world. According to the survey, Prague is in seventh place, with an overall score of 4.40 out of 5.
