We have just cleaned and cranked up the State Theatre popcorn machine for the first time in 26 long months! And we are, as always, only using the secret recipe developed by yours truly and our first manager, Jenn Jennings, in our Top Secret Popcorn Laboratory, back in 2005.
Voted Best Popcorn in the State of Michigan by the Romulus and Remus Cinephile Society 11 years in a row!
Clearly we are getting ready to bring back our amazing concessions stand, in time for the Film Festival (or sooner!), complete with Vernor’s, plus our own local Northwoods Soda and (TC’s — needed?) Grocer’s Daughter Fine Chocolate, Cherry Stop’s State Theatre Mix, Benjamin Twigs Sour Cherries, and Good Harbor Cocoa.
And we’re still the only theater in the Western Hemisphere where pop and popcorn is still available for $2!
Just one more day for this weekend’s fantastic films: “Cyrano” at the State and “Everything Everywhere All at Once” at the Bijou.
