          Cherry Hinton Jubilee Celebrations

Plans are coming together for the Jubilee Celebrations taking place at the Village Centre on 3rd& 4th June,

On 3rd June a local group, Young at Heart, will be running a vintage café with excellent tea and cake on offer.  You can also drop off your entries for the cake competition (see below)
4th June brings a whole day of activities starting from 10am.  Arts and Crafts for children and adults, walking tours, history exhibition, refreshments, board games, sunflower planting, book stall, vintage and charity stalls, story telling, childrens' entertainer.  You can find more details on the village website and over the coming week we will continue to add more activities as final arrangements are made.  We are close to filling all the space available but could do with some help... if you love board games would you consider giving us an hour or two to run the board games area? (families and individuals needed).  Are you a crafter?  Would you be happy to show others how to get started?  We do have some professional knitting tutors coming along to give a hand but we need more so we can help everyone who wants to learn to knit or crochet.

Jubilee Bunting Workshop 14th May Cherry HInton Village Centre 2-4pm
Can we cover the whole of Cherry Hinton in Bunting for the Jubilee Bank Holiday and Weekend?  Sounds like a tall order but we can give it a good try.  It doesn't matter if it's red, white and blue it could be made of paper or fabric what ever you have lets get in our front gardens and windows to commemorate this unique event
If you don't have any or just fancy coming along to make some more join us at the Village Centre.  We should have enough resources for everyone but if you have your own or some to share do please bring it along.   If you cannot join us but have some fabric, ribbon or bias binding to donate please get in touch and we can come and collect.   As an added incentive we will have tea, coffee and cake on hand to keep us going.  We will also use this event for other collections for the Jubilee event on 4th - more information to follow in next week's newsletter and on the website.
