Te Kete Haerenga
This week the Health Navigator Charitable Trust launched Te Kete Haerenga – Your journey to wellbeing kete, an online self-management toolkit designed to empower people living with one or more long-term health conditions.
The toolkit enables people to become active partners in decision-making and work towards achieving goals that are meaningful for them and their whānau. As a result, they are more likely to be successful and improve their quality of life. The toolkit is supported by a range of self-management tools that cover pain, fatigue, sleep, medicines and stress.
Te Kete Haerengareplaces the trust’s self-management resource, Take Charge, and is the result of extensive consultation and co-design with key stakeholders, including Māori, Pasifika and tangata whaiora. Find out more about the toolkit.
Seeking community engagement leads
Are you an authentic communicator, natural relationship builder and engagement specialist with deep work experience and connections within the Māori or Pasifika communities? Health Navigator Charitable Trust has immediate openings for a part-time Cultural Engagement Lead (Māori focus) and a part-time Cultural Engagement Lead (Pasifika focus).
This is an exciting opportunity to serve Māori and Pasifika people across Tāmaki Makaurau and play an important role in helping the trust collaborate and connect with our community. The Cultural Engagement Leads will gather community input to shape the development of health and hauora resources that will be critical to the success of the psychosocial COVID response across Tāmaki Makaurau and will empower people and communities to significantly improve their own health and wellbeing – ‘by community, for community, with community’.
Te Wero is seeking rangatahi to develop and release a digital platform that signposts health and hauora support and resources. The survey will:
Help us understand the wants, needs and challenges when trying to find or access health information or health services
Help us find passionate rangatahi to join our paid advisory group, bringing their insights and personal experiences
Identify key health topics relevant to youth.
There are great prizes up for grabs for those who complete the survey. Find out more about the project and share the survey far and wide.
