Hello Steelheaders,
I am excited to say April was a great month of fishing, a little chilly as Michigan weather can be. The Coho bite on Lake Michigan was strong with reports of nice catches. The Walleye bite was outstanding on Lake Erie, reporting limits of large Walleye in Michigan and Ohio waters.
I have seen most docks are in at landings, and boats are starting to be slipped for the summer. The last word out of SSP was that the fish cleaning station was down. The panfish bite is taking off now that May is upon us.
Last month, our guest speaker was Roger Hinchcliff, and boy did he give us a great seminar. This month's speaker is yet to be announced.
Our Lake Michigan Spring Tournament is May 21st at St.Joe, and South Haven entry info is on our website. I will be hosting this tournament, so you can contact me to sign up.
Our regular meeting will be on May 17th at Travelers Pub starting at 5:30 social hour, 6:30 to 8:00 meeting.
The Tribal negotiations are moving along and hopefully will have a 20-year agreement soon.
The Connie McGowen tournament is coming up fast; please get your captain to sign up and pay entry fees a week before the event. Joe Foy can make our great dinners and arrangements for everyone, and prizes and payouts are in place.
Tight lines
Jeff
