Voter education, registration, and implementation are extremely important to all citizens. It is our right. The passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act is further testament that we must vote. ABC alumni such as Congressman John Lewis, Rev. C. T. Vivian, Rev. Bernard Lafayette, Rev. James Bevel, and others fought to the greatest degree for Blacks to have the right to vote. The municipal elections in Davidson County are currently under way. Early voting continues through April 28 and Election Day is May 3.

American Baptist College student Harmonie Hall was a star at the 2022 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, broadcast live from Nashville on Monday, April 11, on the CBS network.  Harmonie was a backup singer with the celebrated Judds, which was the highly anticipated performance of the evening. The legendary mother-daughter duo Naomi and Wynonna Judd sang together for their first televised performance in more than 20 years.

A stellar and highly sought-after performer, Harmonie was a must-have for the Judd's return CMA appearance. "It was a great experience," said Harmonie. Watch performance.

'Checking In to Prevent Checking Out' was the focus of the American Baptist College Call-A-Thon, to reach out to students. The Enrollment Management event was deemed a success by Executive Director Dee Thomas. "We reached out to nearly 300 students in the four-hour session and were inspired by our contacts." Eight faculty, staff, and one student intern participated in the session.  

In addition to the personal touch, scheduled follow ups were made to do additional contacts with the students. "From this event, we had some completed applications, and that was joyful to the team," said Thomas.

The Enrollment Management team will be doing more of these types of activities, including projects with alumni and other infinity groups, regarding American Baptist College.
