Thanks to generous donations to this year’s Annual Fund, our Learning Lab will see a beautiful transformation over the summer break. When the project is completed, our students will find a variety of quiet places to study, as well as a safe haven when they simply need a break during the school day. In the remodel, we will see a peaceful garden theme with tranquil colors, floor cushions, a large L-shaped sofa, standing desks, communal and individual tables, and quiet study rooms. The understanding of Learning Support (LS) is changing, and as the Learning Lab becomes an even more intriguing and relaxing place to visit, we expect to see an increase in students requesting to visit the Learning Lab. Our Learning Support staff want to express their sincere gratitude to all those who donated to the Annual Fund, helping to not only make this remodel possible, but also better meet student’s learning needs.

As of April 22, Malaysia no longer requires quarantine for close contacts. In light of this news, 

• Dalat will no longer quarantine classes or grade levels when a student tests positive for COVID. We will also not require testing for classmates to return to school. 

• We still want to do our best to keep our community safe and healthy, so we will continue with weekly COVID testing for students and staff. Please continue to submit the test results each week before your child comes to school on Monday. 

• We will also continue to require quarantine if anyone in your household has COVID. In recent experience, it spreads quickly from person to person in a household. 

We will continue to monitor the number of cases in our school community and make changes to the policies to keep everyone safe.

We are excited to announce the newest members of the Dalat Middle School's Junior Honor Society (DJHS) — (from left to right) Emily, Sing Yi, Kenneth, and Zi Xin. These students worked extremely hard and should be very proud of their achievement! During the induction ceremony on Friday, April 8, each student received a certificate of achievement, signed the DJHS Book, and lit a ceremonial candle. 

DJHS was established to recognize outstanding middle school students. More than just an honor roll, DJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, and Character. It is the highest middle school award offered here at Dalat. Congratulations to each one of our new members!

Mark your calendars for the Fine Arts Showcase 2022 featuring art displays and musical performances by our students. Please note that tickets are required for the concerts. Parents can collect two tickets for their child's performance at the front desk at Dalat International School starting Monday, April 25. Extras are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All guests must follow SOPs while on campus.

The Junior-Senior Banquet (JSB) is one of Dalat’s richest and most treasured traditions. Our Juniors have been hard at work to plan this year’s JSB to honor Dalat's Graduating Class of 2022. This formal evening will include childhood photos, skits, music, and tributes that speak words of encouragement and blessing.

Due to the preparation of the event, all divisions will have a half day of school on April 29. All students who are not involved with JSB should be off campus when it closes at 1:00 p.m.

The Journalism class is happy to announce the release of the 2022 yearbook at the end of the semester! The school yearbook covers all three divisions of Dalat (ES, MS, and HS) and includes school portrait pictures (for students and staff) as well as pictures and articles about academics and school life topics. It’s a tangible way to remember the school year!

If you would like to purchase a yearbook (for RM40, which is the same as last year), please order one using this link by TODAY, April 22. There will be NO option to purchase the yearbook if you do not order it through the link today! Book delivery will be in late May, close to finals week. MS and HS students received this form in their email; ES parents received it on behalf of their students.
