The Sunshine Coast Tech Industry Alliance (SCTechIA) and NEXTDC SC1 Data Centre was successfully launched on Friday 8 April evening at The MET, Maroochydore City Centre.
Supported by Sunshine Coast Council in partnership with SCTechIA, NEXTDC and RTI, the event attracted 120 guests from the local and Brisbane Tech industry. The region’s newest industry group was officially launched by Mayor Mark Jamieson and SCTechIA Chair, Kris Carver with keynote presentations from Russ Matulich, RTI Group CEO and Jeff Van Zetten, Chief of Engineering and Design at NEXTDC. CCIQ Pulse Survey
How was your business directly or indirectly impacted from the recent Queensland floods?
The CCIQ Pulse Survey of business conditions for the March quarter (2022) is now open. Have your business voice heard and help advocate to government on behalf of businesses across the state for better business conditions in Queensland.
A great way to recognise the outstanding achievements of our tourism industry, including individuals, businesses (industry operators) and events. The Awards cover 30 categories ranging from attractions, events, tour and transport, accommodation, restaurants, culture, marketing and more.
The Tradies in Paradise incentive scheme targets specific qualified tradespeople and building industry professionals from interstate (except New South Wales) to relocate to eligible Queensland locations to work on flood reconstruction with $$$ incentives. Criteria apply.
Earlier this month Council and Visit Sunshine Coast officially launched the GAP YEAR campaign. Sunshine Coast employers can upload their tourism and hospitality vacancies onto the websitefor free.

We Eat Local
Sunshine Coast businesses are invited to sign up for free to the We Eat Local app dedicated to putting local food and you on the map!
Along with its useful food-finder functionality, the app has an array of fun, social functions that inspire regular interaction and healthy competition with a layer of high ROI promotional opportunities designed to bring back loyal customers and create new ones.
Council is supporting the rollout of the app, with the aim of more locals eating food that is produced locally. READ MORE.

With a reputation based on quality and innovation, Queensland’s food and agribusiness industry continues to go from strength to strength. With one-third of Australia’s primary produce coming out of Queensland, this sector now contributes more than $18.8 billion to the state economy.
Working closely with growers, producers and manufacturers, from all over South-East Queensland, the Food & Agribusiness Network (FAN) is once again bringing many of them together for the annual “Meet the Makers” event.

Celebrating Queensland Small Business Month (May) and the Sunshine Coast Business Awards launch - May 5
'Love your local business' is the theme of this year's Small Business Month. The breakfast is a great opportunity to join more than 300 fellow small business professionals as we share stories of success, strategies for growth, reflect on the past 12 months and hear about the initiatives of the Sunshine Coast Chamber Alliance, Sunshine Coast Council and Noosa Council in supporting our business community.

A new iteration of Council's TAFE Build A Better Business program starts May 10
The Build A Better Business Program has supported more than 130 Sunshine Coast business owners and managers with building their business capability. The new and improved Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business will continue to bring 10 local business owners and managers together, with each participant mentored through the development of a dynamic business action plan that includes comprehensive finance and marketing plans.
This practical six-week course will combine three mandatory face-to-face workshops and three one hour online mentoring sessions. Face-to-face workshops will take place at Venue 114, and have been scheduled as below:

Tue 7 June, 5:30-8:30pm
Pending subsidy eligibility, Council is still able to offer the program for $150. However, this is strictly limited to 10 business owners.

Amzaon Masterclass: The why, what and how to sell on Amazon starts May 19
Council is offering two FREE practical workshops to support Sunshine Coast businesses develop export capabilities and accelerate their time and cost to entering international markets through ecommerce.
The workshop series will be held 19 May & 16 June at Bli Bli and is a great opportunity to skip the learning curve of selling your brand on Amazon and gain insight, tools, and techniques into selling your products on the Amazon marketplace.
The masterclass is limited to a specific number of attendees to encourage high interaction.
Korean Market Briefing and cultural awareness training on May 25
Council is hosting the Australia-Korea Business Council to present a program aimed at building a deeper understanding of opportunities in the Korean market and an overview of Korean business culture.
TIQ Commissioner (Korea) Ryan Freer will present a market briefing followed by the Korean cultural training program delivered by Australia-Korea Business Council.
A local Sunshine Coast business will also give an overview on their exporting journey.
