The Clean Walk Program

The Clean Walk Program is an EHFNA community initiative to provide tools for residents to help keep our neighborhood and community clean.

The Clean Walk Program is designed for people that love to take casual walks in the East Harriet neighborhood. We are fortunate to live in an area with beautiful green spaces, and it is important for us to try and do our part to keep those areas clean.

How does the Clean Walk program work? Just contact the EHFNA at cleanwalkprogram@gmail.com and we will provide you with a garbage claw and 10 biodegradable bags. Then you take the claw and a bag with you whenever you go on a walk, and pick up garbage along the way. Simple as that! The point of this program is to encourage residents to do what you can, where you can, whenever you feel like it. You don’t have to grab every piece of garbage you walk by, and you don’t have to do this every day. The idea is that if everyone does a little bit here and there, it adds up to quite a lot of litter cleaned up in our community. In addition, it makes for a more sustainable solution to keeping our neighborhoods and parks clean, since walking around our neighborhood is probably already part of your routine.

To receive your free garbage claw and 10 bag supply, please email cleanwalkprogram@gmail.com with your name and address or intersection (to verify East Harriet residency). After that, you will receive a reply with instructions on how to obtain your Clean Walk Program materials. Supplies are limited and only one claw and package of bags are allowed per household. Your email address will be kept private, and only used to send an optional follow-up survey to gather feedback on the program.
